    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>there arent many good players past the 1st round.</div>

If memory serves me correctly, many players who were not drafted in the first round have become at least marginal pros.

Joe Montana, Tom Brady, and Terrell Davis are three off the top of my head. They did alright.

Dave had his boy & did not want AJ. It was primarily Spielman who could see that Feidler was a lost cause.

hey what do you guys think of Derrick Pope? The new guy drafted last night, played a few games for Miami this year and did a spectacular job. Do you think he is the future of Miami's linebacker corps?? I think one game he made a record 13 tackles..so lets see....Derrick Pope, Zach Thomas, Junior Seau. Wow, thats one tough linebacking corps...just add Brian Urlacher, lol

Seau will never play another down in Miami....Pope will play special teams and behind Zach Thomas if hes still on the team....I wont be suprised if all 3 starting LBs from last year are not retained and Pope starts in the middle with Eddie Moore and Tony Bua on the outside....

I heard somewhere that Miami was looking at my boy Najeh Davenport from Greenbay, I would hope not though! Amahn Green seems to be slipping a little bit and I think Najeh is the Future Back of that team(If they resign him!)

Davenport is awesome...i wouldnt mind Miami signing him...but if Miami even thinks about getting rid of Zach Thomas, they are crazy.

They arent crazy, but they did go 4-12 with him in the middle....he still has some value and they are a few years away from winning, the thinking might be that by the time they are ready to win, he will be past his prime....I read an interveiw by Belichick(Sabans mentor) where he said that the biggest mistake he made in Cleveland was to keep a lot of the vets and try to build with them when he knew deep down that they would be past it when they were ready to dominate....then when he realized it, he cut Kosar and the town turned on him....I know Saban and Belichick talk a lot and I know they have discussed the way to build a team, so I wont be surprised if Saban jettisons all the 30+ year old talent for draft picks and younger players....I firmly believe that you build through the draft and even more emphatically, I believe Saban believes you build through the draft....sometimes you have to take 2 steps backwards to take 3 steps forward....

The rumor was that Saban & Belichick have not talked alot since Saban was hired by Miami. Is this true. I don't think we'll ever know. I'd lay good money on the press trying to stir up controversy.

As for as the changes Saban has in store, I have always felt that you can't change just to change. Nor can you refuse to change (are you reading Wanny?). The best course of action is to make necessary tweaks every so often.

Miami will not have turnaround in 05 like San Diego did this year. I see no reason why they can't be competitive in 06. I honestly think Taylor & Zach will be in Miami in 05 everyone else on the D is fair game.

As for the offense, God only knows. It all depends on the job Houck can do with the OL. If he does 75% as well as he in SD then the future is not as bleak.

Hey fellas. I've been on vacation in Florida so I haven't been throwing out anything on here. But yea Saban said he had not talked to Belichick since before the job was offered to him. Not sure how true that is but thats what I heard.
