The mighty Bruins have been beaten in game 1.

Anything can happen, chuck. The bruins are not invincible. They have freaking Corey Potter on their blueline. Plus the wings took 3 out of 4 in the regular season. Looks like it's bad match up for Boston.

Lucic is a thug...what did he think he was going
to start when the final buzzer went off?
I picked TB because "the mighty Canadiens"
    rub me the wrong way...
it was a pick made with the heart, not my head.
Terrible time for Bishop to be injured.

Need to play the games for sure, but the Bruins are still a huge fav in the East. And were a huge fav for the SC when the playoffs started based on odds, and the "weakness" of the East.

I don't think the Bruins are a lock to win the East. Hard to win it back to back. Anything can happen. They are a clear fav in every East series they play, but that doesn't mean they will win for sure.

fantastic road playoff game by Detroit. this is a gritty talented, well coached team, that is gonna make the Bruins earn every inch of the ice. this could become a classic original six battle.

Stinks the Wings didn't get the Pens. Zero doubt in my mind they would have beaten the Pens in the 1st round if they played.

Why is Jonas Hiller not in net for the ducks? Looks like they have some swedish kid playing over him....Hmmm

Yeah, kid started game 1 as well. Hiller has been benched. He was very shaky down the stretch and they went with 1 of their 2 good young goalies instead. Hiller is the backup.

chuck, you don't sweat the pens this year, huh? They still scare me with that offense.

Interesting decision by the ducks to bench their number 1 goalie. It is like us benching hank and putting Talbot in there. I think you win with your best unless you are down 3.

Their O is always scary. They have the best player in the world. They have the at worst 3rd or 4th best player in the world. Neal is great as well. They have good O on their D. So yeah, the Pens will always be tough. But MAF is a mess in the playoffs. They are not a real physical team. They clearly were better last season with Iginla and a few other guys they lost on the team.

So while it won't be a walk in the park, I do firmly believe the winner of our series will beat the Pens. And if the Pens played the Wings I think they were done round 1.

I always think the Pens will be very tough to beat, but this season I just don't like them as much.

Well, down the stretch the kids played a lot for the Ducks, Gibson played some as well. So while Hiller did mainly get them there, the kids also played a role down the stretch, so it wasn't out of the blue game 1. A lot of people thought a kid was the right decision.

Lets see how the ducks do in the playoffs this year with Boudreau. Boudreau is very good regular season coach, not so great in the playoffs.

Blues up 2-0 vs Hawks. Blues looked awful coming
down the stretch....did not think they could turn
it around. Hawks have some work to do.

Hoping BJs can beat Pens on the road.
    Tough task.

Every Pens playoff game is the same. Goal after goal. That is why I think the winner of our series will beat them in round 2. They play no D, and MAF is terrible in the playoffs.

    2-1 Pitt 5 minutes in.

I think the winner of this series would actually be 'better off' playing Pitt since they are shaky defensively, and CBJ has a better goalie and is more physical.
Edit: The only caveat i'll throw in there is Columbus is pretty green in terms of the roster and playoff experience so that may hurt them this year.

Have you watched this series? Bob has been bad. Is he better than MAF...sure, but Bob is nothing special in the playoffs. He has a lot to prove there. Plus we would have home ice over CBJ, but it doesn't matter anyway. Pitt is not losing 4 of 5 to CBJ after going 7-0 against them.

If they go down 2-0 I know...LOL. They are not winning 4 of 5 after losing 7 straight to the Pens. Unless they come back to win tonight, this is over.

Going down 2-0 in hockey is VERY difficult to come back from. The %'s of teams winning up 2-0 are VERY high. Of course it can be done, but the odds are very much against it. Double so when the Pens would be 7-0 against the BJ's this season.

BUT this game is not over. Pitt is so sloppy. Their D is awful. Their goalie is bad. They will NOT beat the Rangers or Flyers. Keep Pitt off the PP and you will beat them.

You get decent chances against the Pens and you will score. Their playoff games are a joke. Always 5-7 goals a game.
