Nobody was supporting the Dun re-signing really, and we pretty much agree that so far he's a big blunder. But Murph as center...? C'mon now. That's like free dunks and layups for the other team and no box-outs or screens. He's one of the huge reasons we play zone and settle for long shots rather than stepping in, not to mention Okur and Chris Kaman can eat him alive in the paint. Plus, he's no Brad Miller or Andrew Bogut with the passing skills, because he's got to have some courtvision and creativity first. Murphy is a role player and he's definitely not a good one at center and that's why Foyle was signed to be center and we didn't pick up another power forward at the time unless that was supposed to be Clif Robinson or Andris Biedrins. We know how that went.

If we play all scoring ball with Murphy at the 5, then there's no weakside defense period, so you can't complain about the Warriors crap style of zone defense. As for scoring. We need an inside game to make set plays work and we need to do something when more athletic teams that can d-it up shut us down. We need to find ways to get all five guys on the same page so that they can get defenses moving so one of them can get open. They need to do it together because the ball will be changing hands, otherwise it's the same old one-on-one crap with the ball never changing hands unless it's a one pass and hoist type of play. That's not basketball.

Because the Warriors have never played organized ball, it leads me to believe it's the players still learning or having to adjust. I believe that Muss was a good coach, but he had to find a way to get players to play comfortably so they wouldn't overthink and so that they could play more natural. Now that the Warriors are playing organized, half-court set without an inside presence, the Warriors become less natural and they want to go back to playing rookie ball which only works when teams stop respecting our sad arse club. We've got no patience in how to deal with 4th quarter situations and that's why guys like Muss and Montgomery went with the Vets. But this season, our vets are really unreliable, but the difference is if the vets fail, it doesn't affect the rookies psyche at all.
