Brandon Pirri scored twice and Carter Hutton made 31 saves in Rockford's 3-1 victory over the Peoria Rivermen Friday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The loss snapped Peoria's three-game winning streak and pushed their record back below .500.

The IceHogs opened up the scoring at the 15:34 mark of the first frame. Ryan Stanton threw a puck on net that Martin St. Pierre was able to tip past Jake Allen for his 15th goal of the year. Kenndal McArdle earned the secondary assist on the tally.

Pirri scored two goals in the second period to increase Rockford's lead to 3-0. Pirri was able to deflect home a Dylan Olsen shot at 6:59 to make the score 2-0. With 5:54 remaining in the second period, Pirri scored his second goal of the night. From the slot, Pirri backhanded the puck over the left shoulder of Allen to make it a 3-0 affair. Philippe Paradis assisted on Pirri's 12th goal of the season.

Peoria broke Hutton's shutout bid just 2:34 into the third period. Stefan Della Rovere took a shot that beat Hutton over the shoulder. Tyler Shattock assisted on Della Rovere's first goal of the campaign.

The Rivermen went 0-for-5 on the power play and outshot Rockford 32-29.

The Rivermen will be at home tomorrow night for a contest against the Texas Stars at 7:35 p.m. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will recieve a CEFCU Zamboni Bank. For tickets or information call 309-676-1040.
