<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Oneinpower:</div><div class="quote_post">but that was way after you acted like a fool what you think when Shaq play Kobe on christmas that he is going to give him a big hug.</div> Im not sure what Kobe and Christmas has to do with this riot, but you have some interesting thoughts floating thru your mind.
Facts are: Hard foul by Artest, but not flagrant. Wallace over-reacted, and shouldn't have shoved Artest in the first place. Artest should've just went to the locker room, center of the court, somewhere, instead of laying down on the table...and Ben should've done the same, in the other direction. The Detroit fans should've stayed in their seats, to wait until the fight is broken up...not making it worse. Stephen Jackson and Artest should NOT have jumped out into the crowd.

I was genuinely surprised that he didn't retaliate against Ben. I think that should count for something, and that's part of the reason I'm vehemently against this idea of suspending him for a whole season.</div> did see the whole thing live...and i think he was kind of taunting the pistons and piston fans by lying down on the table the way he was. you have to agree that those actions were most certainly a taunt. its hard to say what i would do in his position...he's still a pro athlete and i guess i just hold pro athletes to higher standards.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting trenchteam:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, the poeple being stepped on an knocked to the ground were mostly by other fans, pushing and shoving to throw things at the Pacers. SO much for family. It could have been an isolated event in one part of the stadium. But no, everyone wanted to get in on it. Theres a big difference bro between Artest and Jackson fighting a couple guys, and a entire crowd rioting. 3/4 of the injuries were due to the rioting fans, not Artest or Jackson. Dont even start talking about women knocked over. Half of them were knocked over by people trying to get involved. It wasn't like the Artest had an army on his side. Its one man and a couple of teammates. yeah, they ran all over the place knockiing everyone over.</div> I don't have a issue with what Jackson did because he was just watching his player back but artest should have gone after ben like that. one person throw a beer and you blame all the fans i guess we both can agree to disagree. but i did record this and children were crying and women and men were being knocked around.
Who's gonna get suspended. Obviously JO, Artest, Jackson and Ben Wallace, but is Sheed gonna get suspended? He did enter the stands. Tinsley maybe for coming out with the dustpan in the end because of intent. I guess every Pacer for being in the stands. Who do you think?
Even if Artest did provoke by lying on the table, does that give a fan an excuse to hit him with beer. That bottle that was thrown was intended for a Pacer I guarantee it. Not a official. Had it it Artest and broke his face or something worse, would people still be bashing him. As I mentioned, there was alot more to this Riot than just RON ARTEST. He is just one person. The thousands of fans in attendance had alot to do with the events that happenend today.
You also got to take into account that the game wasn't called over until all hell broke lose. That's why Artest didn't go to the locker room. He figured that order would be restored in a few moments, and the play coudl continue. I do think he should walked to the bench, but I guess he wanted to be in ear's distance of what the refs were going to do. That punk who threw the drink should be banned from all NBA games for the rest of his life. After thinking about it and watching the footage a couple times, I think Artest and Jackson should each get a 15-game suspension, Oneal should get a 5 game suspension, and Ben Wallace should get a 3 game suspension. Oh, and all Detroit home games should be played in Indiana for the rest of the season.

blame everyone...Pistons fans..Ben Wallace..and yes to some degree ron artest for running into the crowd.. but IMO, after being shuved by Ben wallace and hearing all the mockering from the pistons fans..and then finally have a beer thrown at you.. will want you to act on the situation..I'm not sayin what Artest did was right but it wasnt wrong either...I wouldn't let anyone abuse me like that...seriously how ARROGANT are these Pistons fans..their team winning the championship and thinking their the shit to push any team around....please...

I agree on that as well. Some may be by Artest, but many of them were knocked over by rioting fans.
How many minimums will the Pacers have to sign now, since all of their players will more than likely get suspensions?
Players shouldn't get suspended for going into stands to break up a fight. Rasheed and Fred Jones were doing the right thing.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting realdealbneal:</div><div class="quote_post">How many minimums will the Pacers have to sign now, since all of their players will mroe than likely get suspensions? </div> There isn't enough time to get people for today's game against orlando. Plus not enough roster space cuz you cant sign people for suspensions.

I saw Rip in the mix on the bleachers too. Even Rasheed. Suspend both teams. let them earn 20 autolosses each. haha. I have no idea how this will go down. Stern has his hands full. No matter what he does, there will be people who will protest it.
Stephen Jackson and J.O. somewhat did the right thing, they had Ron's back, but they basically just stirred up more emotions...at least they didn't just let Ron get abused in that crazy crowd....
Damn this thread is already at 10 pages. Last time a thread reached 10 pages that quick that I can remember was Kobe Bryant's rape charges being dropped.
