Roy hibbert does too and shoots 80% from ft land. I believe his fg% would go up, because he wouldn't have to shoot jumpers on our team.

I'm starting to think that we're going to get LA for one more season. He is gonna do the LeBron James deal. 2 year max with player option so he can cash in when the salary cap raises. At that point I'd be hesitant to sign him... I don't wanna pay a 36 year old LA 30+mil.

I'd sign him to the two-year deal as that gives us the ability to trade him to whatever team we want.

Wish I could rep this twice.

But in the end, that's on Stotts and his scheme.

It's hard to move a player with a 20 million dollar cap hit without taking a shit contract back.

It's definitely Stotts that has been using him as Dirk. He came directly from coaching Dirk, and he is implementing many of the same offensive sets as Dallas, so of course he's going to try to make Aldridge into Dirk.

And that was the first strike against Stotts, IMO. I remember reading this when he was preparing his first Training Camp. It was a huge red flag because there are very few similarities between Dirk and LMA other than they both like to shoot jumpers. Stotts' cognitive dissonance is a huge concern and the #1 reason why we need to part ways ASAP.

The fact that anyone could compare the two is beyond comprehension. Dirk is an oddity. He's a legit 7 footer who plays like a guard. He has great handles (of which Aldridge does not). He can pull up off the drive. He can shoot around screens. The guy plays like a guard. Aldridge does not play like a guard. He plays like Garnett or Sheed or Duncan. He has range, but he's more of a spot up shooter from deep.

I used to think LA and Dirk were similar. Dirk is just better (not now but 2-3 seasons ago, yes.) though. He is a once in a generation type player offensively. Not many players can draw fouls, dominate the low post, hit mid range shots with a patented move and hit 3s and a really good percentage.

Well hibbert isn't a FA so until that happens I'm not considering him. I bet LA would love to play with hibbert though, no matter what he says publicly about lopez.

If I could choose between a prime Dirk and a prime Aldridge, I would choose Dirk 10 times out of 10. The guy was unstoppable in his prime. Virtually unguardable.

Aldridge would be unstoppable if someone could convince him to stop settling for jump shots (not including the fadeaway, I realize that's a weapon). He gets lazy. Same on defense. He's got the potential to be an elite defender but too often times doesn't even challenge a shot and settles for a swipe.

I don't think of LA as Dirk or Duncan. The way he's played this year, I thought of his style as being somewhere in between, and I am fine with that.

Yup. Dirk is a borderline top 15 player EVER.

Plan B, we'll just shift JJ Hickson from our bench to the starting unit! Oh wait, I mean Thomas Robinson.... oh wait..... nevermind.

Plan B is Meyers Leonard though. Sheed-Z-Bo-LA-Leonard great lineage.

Plan B is tough. On one hand I thik going hard after cap space next summer would be the best plan... but I also think it would be pretty vital to not lag too much and try to get this team rebuilt quickly. if Lamarcus leaves though I think we have a starting core of Lillard, McCollum, Batum, Freeland and Leonard. Crabbe, Blake, Kaman and maybe Frazier off the bench. Of Course Afflalo could decide to stay for this year too, I think that moves CJ to the bench and puts Aaron as the starter. And we would still have a lot of cap space to throw at someone... Maybe Greg Monroe?
