    Hello darkness, my old friend
Wait, what? You rate them equal in on-court impact, but you view Landry as tougher (which I take to be short-hand for rebounding), a better defender and a better scorer? Where do you feel Aldridge catches him to make it equal? As a passer?

I'd rather have Aldridge than Landry, player wise.

Aldridge probably has more versatility in terms of the numbers of players he can effectively cover, but Landry seems like a better man-to-man defender and as mediocre as LMA's rebounding numbers are Landy might be worse (or he's gotten worse since his rookie year) -- Landry is a better offensive rebounder whereas LMA is the better defensive rebounder. Secondly, Landry is better around the basket area, while LMA is probably a bit better in the mid-range ... if you add that all up I see them as fairly comparable talents, but they bring different skill-sets to bear, and I tend to favor the kinds of skills that Landry could bring to this team.

I think the numbers bear that out.

so LA (IYO) is the better high post player and more versatile defender, but you'd rather pair Landry with Greg?

regardless, the Kings are in conference...

    Yuck.

LMA might never be a #1 option on a good team, but he is better than all these fools together.

Landry is great "for a short guy that might be a tweener based on size" - but LMA is a better player - even if he is not the toughest mofo for his size.

I said versatile, not more effective and Landry's range extends out to 18 feet, he just prefers to play from the elbow or mid-post. As for him playing with Greg he'd be fine. Regardless, I didn't expect people to be blown away by this deal, these are just off-the-cuff ideas.

Basically agreed. I like a 4 who can effectively cover 5's on switches. At over 2" shorter then LA, thats not Carl. He's probably best utilized off the bench.

Add the fact that Landry is actually 2 years older than LMA...

Anyway, the way I see it, we have a poor man's Landry on the team, his name is Dante Cuningham - and given his age and what looks like big improvement in his ability to put the ball on the floor and attack from the dribble - he could close the distance to Landry some. I'd rather have LMA and Landry-lite than Landry and Landry-light on this team.

Completely replace Blazer ownership, management, and coaching staff, and build this team around Nic, Rudy, LaMarcus and Greg so it can get out and run. Trade Roy and the 10 bench guys we have for a real PG.

Wow, I had no idea Landry was that good numbers wise. Interesting, something to ponder. Eye opener Nik and not the usual bourbon I'm used to.
