At some point you need to be realistic about CJ's value, or you can just keep him on the team and everyone can continue complaining about why we haven't traded him.

His value is more than Kevin Loves contract and a middle 1st round pick

If nothing better is out there, I really think CJ/Roco for Love/Okoro and a first makes us a better team (and under the cap/more flexible next year).

    Lillard/Simons
    Powell/Okoro
    Little/Snell
    Love/Nance
    Nurkic/Zeller

That team would move the ball around better and play a lot harder than the current one. Also (and most importantly), it's just bigger. We'd have a rebounding edge every night and could punish small ball with Love in the post

And what would the be all the games Love misses? Any team that relies on Love is in big trouble. I don't get why so many people want to trade for a broken down player you can't rely on and then pay him 30M a year is crazy. If Love is the best they can get for CJ, then they need to blow it up and Trade Dame also because the team will not be improved. Just because Love is from Portland doesn't mean we should trade for him.

Personally, I would find myself following the team even less and less. That has already happened this year as long ago, as this version with differing periphery parts, had long ago grown stale. I've been offered free tickets and suites for business events....and passed every time so far. It is so sad because I have lived and breathed this team since I was 8 years old.

Y’all know I’ve always been a fairly stand pat, let it bake person.

    We should have traded CJ.
It’s interesting and wonder if CJ’s status with the Blazers does have something to do with Olshey.

    We should trade CJ.
    Give Ant his role.

We have too many guards. It’s like when CJ didn’t play because of who he was on the bench behind, back when we have LA.

Don’t get me wrong CJ is a solid player. But he’s a 2 guard in what is a scoring guards game in todays day and age. 3 pointers and creating his own shot in isolation - 2 things CJ excels at.

Honestly I get a lot of people might not be about it. Maybe the Cavs won’t even do it. But contract wise it works; and really we’d have one less year of $23m on the books which is incredibly huge as it allows us to pay someone to fill a position of need. How we could get someone like Sabonis/Randle/Giannis (just fantasize about it lol).

Kevin Love for CJ straight up.
We need the player that Love is more than we need the player that CJ is

    That Aldridge is
    Porzingis
    Sabonis
    Ryan Anderson
    Etc…

We need to make a move, that is blatantly clear.
If this is what we could get. Get it…
Maybe you don’t call CLE first if you are the new GM opening talks.

Ever think about that too? Was Olshey respected by his peers? Other GMs want to do business with him?

    FG% by distance:

    3-10' - CJ .395....Simons .600
    10-16' - CJ .394....Simons .500

That can be true at the same time that it's true that that's the best we can get for him.
Also, his value to us is less than it might be to some other team (say, one with a bigger/more defensively-minded PG).

At least Love's contract is a year less than CJ's. :)
