I explained how players have motives other than money, and now you want me to explain my explanation. If I do that, you'll want me to explain my explanation of my explanation. It's time for you to survive on your own. I'm pushing to out of the nest and you better FLY, Sonny!
I'm just wondering how a civil suit that ends up in class action damages is going to force the owners into agreeing to pay more in a new CBA than they were willing to agree to last week. Seems self-defeating to me by the NBA players. Unless, of course, this is just a negotiating tool. Nah, can't be that, right?
So you're saying that because Denny, out of the blue, defined "class action suit," that this must mean that the antitrust suit will devolve into a class action suit. Has anyone told Hunter yet to read our board?
You still haven't answered my question about whom the financial judgement would benefit. I'm sure it's because you haven't a clue of the answer, though.
You were probably still catching up on posts from a week ago, Grandpa. Didya hear that the Ducks lost to USC?
They got pushed out of their nest! Well,I've been kind of rough on you today, having my fun and all, and I know you have those easily-hurt feelings of youth, so don't get all repressed and damaged permanently over it. I didn't mean it, and while I know that won't stop the bawling, I just want to say to keep your chins up and don't let what your superiors say get to you. I'll make it up to you. I'm awarding you one free No Wisecracks From JLPRK For A Couple Of Days Coupon.
The antitrust cases are class action suits. Someone asked why only certain players were named as plaintiffs. The definition I gave explained it. "The procedure for filing a class action is to file suit with one or several named plaintiffs on behalf of a proposed class. " http://www.topclassactions.com/laws...ayers-file-class-action-lawsuits-over-lockout NBA Players File Class Action Lawsuits Over Lockout In light of the inflexible settlement negotiations surrounding the NBA lockout, it comes as no surprise that NBA players have filed two federal class action lawsuits against the league, who they say is violating antitrust laws by not allowing them to work. The players, including lead Plaintiffs Carmelo Anthony and Caron Butler, say David Stern's ultimatums left them no other choice. They are alleging the league's 30 clubs violated antitrust laws by conspiring to enforce an "illegal group boycott and price-fixing arrangement' to coerce players into agreeing to a "massive reduction" in compensation. New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony and four other NBA players filed their NBA lockout class action lawsuit in California federal court on behalf of all players under contract with the NBA, and names the 30 NBA member teams as defendants. An identical class action antitrust lawsuit was filed against the NBA by free agent Caron Butler at a federal court in Minnesota. --- Anyhow, I think the point of these suits is to arrive at a settlement, not a ruling then appeals and so on.
As an idependent contractor who isn't under contract with the ownership group, HCP could try to make a case of financial harm due to the lockout as well! Better call Saul!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dmcT3lvWPM
