Agreed. However, in YOUR mind would an injured Noah-LMA-Lillard give up a "Big 3"? I think that is what LMA really wants.

I think LMA has specifically said Hibbert so I not sure how he is any different than Noah.

And call whoever you want the big 3 but I think we would make one other move at least anyways. Someone like DeMarre Carroll.

LaMarcus is significantly better than Taj and with the right teammates makes us contenders. Taj isn't at that level. Even though they're the same age one vs the other would totally change the way our team is built. Now if LaMarcus leaves but we acquire an all star at another position a 30 year old Taj would make more sense.

Rolo has been so bad in the playoffs the last few years I don't think management or LaMarcus believes he's a great fit. I suspect they both like the guy a lot as do all of us but he seems better suited as a bench player or a temporary starter. He looks much better in the regular season when hustle, strength, and fundamentals are a factor. But when teams can game plan for him his slow feet and clumsy hands are liabilities.

Yes an injured Noah isn't any better. But it's a position the team could use an upgrade at.

I wouldn't ever compare LA and Gibson value wise but age wise, I would. Gibson is younger than Kaman and that's the upgrade in a trade. Why not bring him in? We're not talking Greg Monroe money but having a defensive guy like Taj is an upgrade

In retrospect I think Lamarcus tweeted about guys working hard in response to Rolo mailing it in when it counted at the end of the season. Everyone thought it was at Batum, but Rolo disappeared after a few games coming back from injury and was more focused on animation fests and mascots than dominating the post

Well it's all about the timeline of the team. If we are a few years from hitting our peak Id rather target younger players than Taj. Of course he's a better player than Kaman; but the decision is Taj vs the alternatives at $9 million not Taj vs Kaman.

Players on average peak at age 27 or 28. It's not cut in stone some guys peak at 32. But odds are a player declines past 30 so I'd rather pay the extra $6 million and get the upside of a 5 year younger player such as Monroe.

Yeah could be. Dame, Wes, CJ seem like the types of players who put in that crazy work ethic. I don't think Rolo is a slacker by any means but he might not be an above and beyond hard worker. Batum definitely seems like a slacker; guy hasn't put on a pound of muscle in eight years.

I think I read where players enter their prime at 27 or 28 and peak at 30. They are still close to their prime at 31 or 32. I guess it depends on their mileage.

The main knock on Hibbert these last few years is that he wasn't consistent. His motor didn't run every night and he'd almost take games off. Sound like anyone we just traded to Charlotte?

For this reason I'm surprised people think Aldridge specifically wants him, and I'm even more surprised so many fans want him. Who knows, maybe since it's a contract year and a change of scenery he'd play well. I will say he's not suited at all for an up-tempo offense and so far this off-season we seem to be collecting guys who are well suited for an up-tempo offense...

Which is why if LMA does want Hibbert then I think he would be just as happy (and hopefully happier) with Noah.

I just read that roy hibbert has a $2.3million trade kicker. is this amount applied to the acquiring teams cap space?
