I've said that the following players were going to be good... Carlos Boozer Vince Carter Tayshaun Prince Caron Butler Pau Gasol ...and look out for Josh Childress. But my biggest blunder has to be Lee Nailon. I thought he was gonna be a good player, but then he just failed.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting p0ser:</div><div class="quote_post">here's a good one for you guys.. Clarence Weatherspoon</div> Hey, for an undersized PF/too slow not outside shoot SF I think Spoon has held his own in the NBA. He may not be a superstar but it seems whatever team he is on he's either starting or getting 20 minutes court time.
How long has Harold Minor been outta the league? He's kinda old and is never gonna comeback but remember him being in the first NBA Jam. Talk about having high expectations but not even coming close to being a star in the league.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Henacy:</div><div class="quote_post"> If a player played in the NbA, a decade or better you cant consider them someone who disappeared when the average NBA career for a player is 6 years, especially 2 guys like Chris Jackson & Clearance Whetherspoon, who both put together solid NBA careers with double-digit career scoring averages. </div> I'm not saying Weatherspoon wasn't a solid player - he's definitely an overacheiver in his own way .. but this guy started out hot for the first few years and was being touted as the next barkely .. then the hype died, no more barkely comparisons, and he kinda blended into the crowd. Like the topic says, this was one of those players everyone thought would be good but just disappeared from the spotlight. Chris Jackson really was good - didn't he make the all star team at least 1 yr?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CourtVision:</div><div class="quote_post">I always thought Ed Cota could play in the league. He had a suspect shot but his ball handling and passing skills were tops in the NCAA (lead NCAA in assists). He was also listed as 6'1 as well so he would have been a good height to play the point. </div> Cota was a good playmaker but I never thought he was that great of a ball handler..I remember on countless occasions he would get picked by the opposing PG...that was one reason I was never really that high on him <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 30 standing ver:</div><div class="quote_post">How long has Harold Minor been outta the league? Wouldn't be surprised if Harold got real fat. Hell I didn't wanna believe Shawn Kemp got fat in the 99 season. But he was, couldn't believe my eyes.
That Cook guy forgot his first name he was suppost to be the lebron before lebron, but decalred out of high school after missing his senior season do to being ineligable and went undrafted. Also Christian Lattenier, Juwan Dixon, and Marcus Fizer as well as Sam Bowie of course possibly the biggest draft must ever considering the players who went after him.
Deshawn Stevenson and Lenny cooke. Deshawn Stenvenson still has chance to be a great player in my eyes hes just not hungry. Lenny Cooke in my mind was the spitting image of a jock great physical talent but dumb as rocks he listened to to much of the hype and he thought he was going to get drafted after every team in the league knew his image and how many diffrent schools he was in and out of.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Quickness:</div><div class="quote_post">Is this the Dante jones that dunked on a man fell to the ground and started doing pushups in the camera. </div> No. The one you are talking about (Let me clear it up for ya, since everyone else is doing a bad job ) is named Dahntay Jones. I have the 2002 or 2003 NCAA SDC recorded and the guy has hops!!! He jumped so damn high, even though he still lost. LOL. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting HoopsAvenue:</div><div class="quote_post">I thought Will Avery would be a nice point in the league, but he disappeared after spending a few years on Minnesota's bench. .</div> He plays around here now,he's a great shooter and a player who can be very useful from everywhre when on fire(even though he chooses to pass like 56 Assts even when he have a great night from the field),he's a player for a BobcatsCeltics kinda team IMO.
