    East:
Caps in 5 over the Leafs (could be a sweep).
Pens in 7 over the BJ's (could be 6).
Habs in 6 over the Rangers
Ottawa in 7 over Boston (this one truly is a coin flip).

Caps in 6 over the Pens (finally OV gets over the hump).
Habs in 6 over the Sens (I think NYR/Habs winner goes to ECF for sure).

    Caps in 6 over Montreal

    West:
Hawks in 4 over the Preds
Wild in 6 over the Blues
Ducks in 7 over the Flames (I like the Flames).
Oilers in 6 over the Sharks (this is an upset even though Oilers have home ice)

Hawks in 7 over the Wild (want to pick the Wild but they struggled down the stretch).
Oilers in 6 over the Ducks

Hawks in 6 over the Oilers

    SCF:
Hawks in 7 over the Caps (great SCF between two best teams).

We lose in 6. Hope I'm wrong but again, this team doesn't appear to be built for the playoffs. You know but I don't expect much.

Definitely see the Caps. However, when they score goals at home I mute the TV (the worst sound effects).

I think Ottawa makes the ECF beating us or MTL(i'll say MTL in 7), then loses to the Caps in 6. In the West i think SJ is being undervalued and makes it to the WCF, losing to Chicago in 7. Chicago over the Caps in 7 as Chuck predicted.

You are crazy on Ottawa 71...:). They certainly can make the ECF in the weaker Atlantic bracket, but I think you are overrating them.

They definately are better than Boston. Whether they would beat us or Montreal is debatable and a toss-up.

Agreed on Boston. I think us/Montreal are a little above them, but no doubt a series Ottawa can win. No world beaters or clear favorites in the Atlantic bracket.

^^^^why not. Nobody gives them a chance. Fans have bashed these warriors day in and day out.
Beat down the hockey demons. Nothing like taking them by surprise.
Now, if we only know how to hit 'me back and score on the PP!

    NHL.com.

16 picked the Habs. 5 picked the Rangers. Tons of Hawks/Caps in the SCF.

    ESPN.com.

7 picked the Habs. 5 picked the Rangers.

In my book, espn is not barometer for picking anything.

Barring a big 3rd period Ottawa will be in a huge hole. My thought is they are the weakest link in the Atlantic bracket, but either way I feel even more confident now that the winner of our series will be in the ECF (barring a big injury...or a long war here and Boston wins in 4 or 5).

Watching 2 games in each series now it looks to me that our series is on another level. Simply two better teams playing I believe. Whichever team wins the Boston/Ottawa series (and Ottawa isn't fully done just on life support if they lose today) will be a clear underdog in the next round against the NYR/Habs.

Makes our series even bigger. I view it as playing for the ECF not just the 2nd round.

Brassard just tied it for Ott. Say what you want about Brassard but he is a good playoff guy.

Yes, I love it. I want the Sens to win that series, and at least make it a long series like our series will be. Desperate team just like Montreal was in the 3rd last night. Hockey is such an emotional sport, especially when you get pretty evenly matched teams like us/Montreal and Boston/Ottawa.

As for Brass, yes he is solid in the playoffs. I still like adding 5 + years in age and dealing for Zib, but Brass has played well in the playoffs. Hopefully Zib starts to step up. Needs to raise his level after 2 games.

I liked the trade when it happened and still do but Brass playoff production is hard to replace. Let's see how Zib does not impressed in the first 2 games, he really played small too. He can still write his story in NY

For sure. But we have to remember 3 things. 1. It is 2 games. How did Brass play in games 5 and 7 against TB? Only 2 games. 2. How was Brass playing when he just turned 24 as Zib does on Tuesday? 3. The extra cap savings enabled us to put the team together this season. Not sure we would have been able to afford Vesey if we didn't make that trade, let alone the better pick we got.

But no doubt Brass has performed in the playoffs. We need Zib to step his game up. We need him to perform. I think he will play better back at home with 2 games under his belt.
