Offensively the Pens just look like too much. They throw two overwhelming lines at you.

The Rangers need to come out like the Ducks did tonight. Up 3-0 early in Edmonton trailing the series 2-0 like us.

We'll see if they hold on and get the W.

    Holtby has really been terrible.

Another early exit on the brink for the Caps now. Not sure which team I am rooting for, but I will say it is difficult to beat the Pens when the refs are on their side as well. That high stick penalty on Oshie with under 2 minutes to play was a joke of a call. Took Pierre about 5 minutes to say you know what Doc...watch that again...it may not have been a high stick. REALLY Pierre...there is no may about it, it wasn't a high stick. That pretty much ended any hope for the Caps. Crazy.

Never say never if Crosby is still out, the Caps controlled the game tonight and still have better talent man for man, but very difficult to see the Pens blowing a 3-1 lead, and maybe even more difficult to see the Caps coming back from down 3-1. I would think we'll see a game 6 in that series though.

We will see major changes in DC if the Caps lose this series though, that's a given I think.

And Holtby is overrated. Great D in front of him inflates his #'s. And Holtby, along with all the other Caps, have never been past the 2nd round for a reason. Choke every season. And yes the ridiculous NHL playoff system had them against the Pens in round 2 the past two seasons, but the years prior to that (years they also won Pres trophies) when they choked there were no Pens, so I don't buy that reason. Something is missing from that team inside I think.

I think they're done. MAF is simple playing much better than Holtby in the series.

If rangers get by ottawa and no crosby we can beat the pens. Doubtful with his concussion history and vicious hit he took if crosby comes back this season.

BTW...I think the thing missing inside is inside of OV. Great player, not sure about him as a leader and as a Captain.

Still a BIG IF to get by the Sens. We need to win tomorrow night, then I'll start thinking about us getting by the Sens. Until that happens we are still in a hole and facing a must win game 4 to save our season I think.

As for Crosby, they said he was feeling good and was upbeat. We'll see if that matters and if he'll be back in this series, or the ECF which won't start for 9 or 10 days.

Hard to imagine that in such a huge game Ovechkin would only have two shots, Oshie two shots and Backstrom zero.

I hate that they play those guys together. They should be split up and provide more balance. They are all minus players. At least 1 of them should be on a different line for more balance.

Very weird situation in DC. Year after year they fail in the 2nd round. Cannot put your head in the sand this time I don't think. Obviously there is some issue there that needs to be addressed.

I haven't seen the replay of Anaheim's third goal last night but after reading about the game and referring back here the NHL seems to have some serious consistency issues to address. Oilers blow a 3 goal lead w/ less than 4 minutes to play and lose is the 2nd OT....unreal.

I think Edmonton got jobbed on the tying goal. Kesler did get pushed but it also appears that he grabs Talbot's pad and hold its before the tying goal ends up in the net. Should've been called goalie interference.

I'll tell you one thing, if the Caps don't at least win tonight and force the Pens to clinch at home, that is a total joke for them. To get whipped in 5 games, and go 0-3 at home, would be a total embarrassment for that team.

If that happens they might trade/not resign 1/2 their team.

A period away from getting eliminated in five games. Major changes will be taking place in Washington after this one.

Yeah, they had to win tonight. I'd expect the Pens to win game 6, but the Caps simply could not whimper out in 5 games going 0-3 at home.

Not apples to apples, but the Caps have outplayed the Pens for long stretches in that series like we have outplayed the Sens, and yet we both trail 3-2. NHL playoffs...

Nashville was able to hold onto a late lead...;)...and they are the first team to advance to the CF's. Should mean our game will start at 7:30 on Tuesday night.
