Ah man! The format had to change. So it means Rockets have to either win their division or finish 2nd best in their division(better than the 2nd teams from other divisions). Man

The Clippers' talent and they're able to do on the court is a lot to handle for Sacremento and they're only going to get better with Elton Brand playing the best basketball of his career. Also, I think the Kings are going to suffer with the loss of Bonzi Wells, which is why I only have them at 8.

Yes its a possibility but with them losing Bonzi and other teams in the West getting better its gonna be pretty tough for them to get in. They'll have to fight for the eighth spot with the Grizzlies and New Orleans.

I got New Orleans instead with the potential and talent the team is loaded with and I think they'll make it this year.

^^ Thats what I meant. I meant that division winners, and they team that had the highest record of the teams that didnt win was #4.

I though it was the highest two teams (doesn?t matter which division) were guaranteed one of the top 2 seeds.
1 dallas 2 spurs 3 suns 4 Lakers 5 rockets 6 hornets 7 kings 8 clippers East 1. pistons 2 heat 3 nets 4 cavaliers 5 bulls 6 orlando 7 wizards 8 pacers I think the pistons will still be a very consistent winning regular season team.
So I'm wondering, what is so hard about putting all division winners in the top 4? That's the rule people, division winner, regardless of record, is still guaranteed top 4.
1. Phoenix Suns 2. Dallas Mavericks 3. Houston Rockets 4. Denver Nuggets 5. Los Angeles Clippers 6. San Antonio Spurs 7. Sacramento Kings 8. Los Angeles Lakers The west will be dominant as usual, and it'll be a battle for good teams to even make it to the 7th and 8th spots. The West is much quicker and younger now, and I believe the Spurs will start to show their age this season. I wouldnt be surprised to even see one of the lower seeded west teams taking it all this season. I CAN'T WAIT!!

The top 4 seeds will go as follows. spurs phoenix mavs denver
yeah nuggets at 4th is ridiculous. IF they even make the playoffs, they prob won't be higher than 7th. i think it'll b sumthing like 1.suns 2.mavs 3.spurs 4.rockets/clippers/kings/MAYBE lakers 5. maybe hornets maybe mavs or spurs might be 1st or 2nd i dunno but those three will probably be the top three. i'm not sure who will be after that though. i'm saying maybe rockets, but thats a big maybe. clippers are probably gon be high in the rankings. and i'm not sure about kings but they're a good team and i think they'll do even better than last year. and the hornets signed tyson chandler and peja, so i'm sayin they'll make it to the playoffs for sure.

That's the rule people, division winner, regardless of record, is still guaranteed top 4.
You guys are getting really annoying. Read what Moo2K4 posted above... This has been stated many times, and yet people just keep ignoring it. Come on guys, it isn't difficult.
Ok people, I'm going to explain this as cut and dry as possible. Lets say, Dallas, Denver, and Phoenix win their divisions, but San Antonio has a better record than both Denver and Phoenix. The top four would go as follows: 1. Dallas 2. San Antonio 3. Phoenix (or Denver) 4. Denver (or Phoenix) After that, it's all the same. The four teams with the best records after them get in. So, to explain this completely for you now. The three division winners are still guaranteed a top four seed, regardless of record. However, under the new seeding rules, they are no longer guaranteed top three, like it has been in previous years. Instead, if, say, Dallas wins the division and San Antonio ends up with the second best record in the West, despite losing the division, they are now going to get the second seed. By doing this, we will no longer have 1 vs 2 in the 2nd round like we did last year. Essentially, this was done to prevent the two best teams from having to face eachother before the conference finals. So, to recap. Division winners still get a top four seed, but, if someone in the same division as the top seed has a better record than the other two division winners, they will get the second seed and the other two will go accordingly based on record. After them, the next four best teams get in. So, I hope this rids everyone of their confusion over the new seeding rules.
