It is funny that these dmen weren't good enough to be here anymore, but they are good enough to make up 3 of TB's top 4 dmen. Hedman/Girardi and McDonagh/Stralman is their top 4. Now we don't have a Hedman to be the glue bringing it altogether, but it still does stick in my craw that their D is so Rangers heavy, and our D has been a joke the past couple of seasons.

Mainly this is about Stralman and Girardi since given where we were trading McDonagh was absolutely the right move. Our downward trend on D started with signing Boyle over Stralman. That started it all. Since then it has all gone down hill. And our RD is terrible. We need Shatt to step it back up next season. Then we need to add another RD this offseason. That would be a good start.

Pionk is a huge plus if he can be a Stralman here. People forget Stralman blew before coming to the Rangers.

Wonder if they’d be interested in Lundqvist?

They would be a great spot if he ever did get dealt.

    1. Hank has a full NMC.
    2. The Jets made the WCF with Hellebuyck.
    3. Hellebuyck is a Vezina finalist, so he had a great year.

Let's please try and keep some sense of reality.

Between Byufglien and Myers sucking and Maurice stupidity pulling the goalie way too late they don't deserve to win. Not all that impressed with Laine other than his great shot.

Yeah, I didn't mean in the next 2 years really, but in his last year I could see them asking him, if we aren't in the playoff race.

For those who care, it is really bad for the credibility of the league that an f'ing expansion team makes the SCF. I mean Jesus, all the teams spend years building up and have to lose good players every single season due to a ridiculous hard cap. Then they slant the expansion protection rules so much that Vegas gets the golden setup for this season.

It really hurts credibility of a true professional sports league that this can happen.

The Jets should try and keep Stastny around, but they need to get a little quicker as a team.

I think the Jets are in a real good spot. They were kind of a year ahead of schedule I think. They should have a good 2 or 3 year window now I'd think.

If Tampa advances who do we root for, the extra 1st or Vegas?

If Tampa makes it that far...root for them for sure. I was a bit torn if I wanted to see all those Rangers win a cup with another team (salt in the wound), but if they make it all the way to the SCF, we might as well want the extra 1st and root for TB to win...and then suck next season...LOL.

The NHL calls the Vegas team in Stanley Cup Finals as historic....I call it a league joke for all teams and fans.

The NHL usn't going to open a new franchise without giving them the opportunity for immediate success. They still had to make the right player choices and find a coach capable of getting a full game with maximum effort on both sides of the puck, something AV's Rangers rarely did. I agree the Boyle signing was one of Glen's worst because it cost Stralman but it seems like AV might have contributed to defensemen underperforming.

^^^^^AV knew nothing about team defense. All he cared about was speed. His doghouse
was larger than the team he put on the ice. In this league he’ll land somewhere as long as
it’s not with the New York Rangers...........again. I think those days are ovah!
