Right, and then when Crabbe is in there with only one of Lillard or McCollum, they focus on Crabbe also.

Disappointing loss....got away from ball movement in the 4th and couldn't make a shot...great first half play though....12 qtrs...Blazers have won 5.5 of those...but no endgames...one more shot at a playoff win Monday....then bring on the off season!

By the way...I think Stotts did an incredible job just winning 5.5 qtrs. out of 12 against a team with 5 allstars and a veteran bench....he didn't like the officiating at all at the end of the game last night but he's always above those bad calls....Stotts is a great coach no matter what his detractors say in my book

@Jade Falcon and I were talking about Stotts during the game. He's not a fan and I think Stotts is pretty good. I can't think of one player who has done better after they left the Blazers and Stotts. He does good putting players in positions to take advantage of their strengths.

I thought for sure that Pops would take LMA's game to a different level but he is the same player for SA that he was for us. Pops, IMO, is the best coach in the league. Rolo, Wes, no one has suddenly gotten better after leaving the Blazers. Some could argue Batum but IMO he's just benefitted from being the 2nd option instead of the 3rd that he was here.

BTW, this was by far Meyers best game in the playoffs.

While I don't agree with all of your conclusions, I do agree that this is why making the playoffs was important. It shows you what we've got when the season is on the line. And for the 2nd game this series, the Blazers played really well for the majority of it, then fell apart. Maybe that's youth and letting the pressure get to them, who knows, but it seems clear that the team should get some good veteran leadership next season.

At times it looked like they were shell-shocked even though the game was still within reach. Like things were moving too fast - losing their footing when they'd tried to cut, resorting to 1-on-5 hero ball out of desperation, fumbling the ball away countless times. In particular, Vonleh, who for the entire series has treated the ball like it's a squirming fish. I've lost count of how many times he's had the God-damn ball in his hands then fumbles it away, or lets it get easily knocked out of his hands.

No idea? Would have had a better chance than iso dribble ball. If not, go high post back cuts. Takes doubling out of te picture because if kick outs.

I've been crying for vets for a long time. So, you can stop it. According to this forum, vets are not the problem. 1977 Blazers were the youngest team in the league and other stuff like this..

LMA became the 2nd option on a team that moves the ball, so I wouldn't say he got worse.

Yes Stotts does a good job of empowering lesser players. That's about the only thing he does well in my opinion. He takes shitty players and makes them almost average.

I guess if he got average players, he might make them good, so you could pin it on Olshey. However, Stotts empowering goes too far with Aminu thinking he's some sort of Point Forward, and Dame chucking up bad shots.

Yeah, except GS hardly ever allows backcuts, and then we're stuck with a player in the highpost with no skills to do anything with the ball.

Therefore, they have to look for a guard, who gets trapped off the hand-off.

They really don't. KD is just Robert Horry without the rings for them.

The only way to counter their defense is with a "Perfect Pick And Roll", one where both the guy receiving the screen and the guy setting the screen are major offensive threats. You can't switch the guard onto the big screener, because he will take advantage. You can't run under the pick because the guy getting screened can hit the jumper. You can't double either player because the other is dangerous. But we need a 100% healthy and game shape Nurkic to make that happen. Next year.
