Regyr got 2 2nd round picks. Girardi as a UFA has similar value but prob a little more. I think we can get a #1 pick for him but not much else

even if its just a 1st that's a deal that the team cant afford to pass on. Brass and cally packaged together would bring back a nice bag of goodies as well. we have a chance to do a real nice quick one season rebuild.. would be a true failure to not pull it off.

Agreed. But look at the positives. A lot of the guys we all hate in here (Pyatt and Boyle to name two) will be gone next season. So look at the positives instead of the negatives.

There is no reason we can't be on top next season IF we do it right this summer. We'll see if we do.

The plan sounds good guys as this team is going nowhere. Hope sather is seeing it the same way and starts pulling the friggin trigger on some moves and getting some assets back to rebuild and reload with along with the future fa arrivals for next year.

If we can't get Phil Robertson as our next President, I would gladly take him as our GM.

I would love JD also, but to me this is all fantasy anyway. Sather is not leaving now IMO. He sees what we all see. At the very least he'll stay through the summer re-make to put his last stamp on this team and this sport. That's how I see it at least.

We'd all love JD, but he is not going to hurt his rep by leaving a team after 1 year. He started a job there and is not leaving at least until they are on good footing. We're stuck with Glen for now. Maybe in a couple of years the timing will be right. Sather will be even older and might finally give us a break and retire, and CBJ is well on their way to being a good team.

The least Sather can do is hire a GM to split the responsibilities, it's ridiculous that he is President & GM and unfortunately if that doesn't change it's highly unlikely his faulty decision making on free agent additions will change. I also think Girardi will be traded, he's going to want $5+ a year and expanded cap or not he's not worth it, he would be a great addition to a top contender as a #3 or #4 dman. I don't know about Callahan though he strikes me as a guy who wouldn't look to fleece the Rangers, he's a loyal standup guy. I think Glen brings Boyle back for his utility abilities and low salary requirements and I do think he'll resign MDZ unless a team makes him a more than favorable offer.

As far as a team winning the Cup through trades and free agency the LA Kings come to mind.

I stand by the fact that Boyle has a lot of value around the league because he plays well in the playoffs and he wins faceoffs. I have no idea why that is but as I told some posters, his name has come up at the deadline a lot the past 2 years. Wish Lindberg was having a better year offensively in the AHL but I still have no issues with Lindberg taking over the 4th center spot next year. Boyle has run his course here. Time to trade him and get what you can.

Panzerporter, good job with the Kings. Thanks for pointing them out. Probably half their roster was made with trades/FA.

So chuck, your are right, it could be done. I still don't think it can happen with Sather, but get rid of him someone who knows what they are doing and maybe. I guess my biggest problem is Dolan/Sather. Still think 3/4 of this roster needs to be turned over. Tough job to do. We'll see what happens. I guess the last 1 1/2 years has drained my normally optimistic view.
