Players I want to see: Flynn Thabeet Nolan Smith Nic Batum Luke Babbitt We're going to lose anyway, why not at least analyze our young guys and see if they're worth keeping around. This is a chance for Batum to be the focal point of the offense. I think we should take advantage of it.
http://espn.go.com/nba/standings/_/sort/winPercent/group/1 Some notes: Due to last night's "game", Milwaukee has now passed us in the league standings, dropping us to 10th worst; We are tied with the league's three worst teams for the worst record in our last 10 games (3-7); We are the worst team with a positive point differential; 6 teams with better records have worse point differentials, including three with negative differentials; Golden State (next team down in the standings) has 4 of their next 7 games against worse teams (SAC, NJN, & 2 v NOH), and one other against us. They should pass us by the end of March.
As I see it, the best possible outcome for the draft would be for Portland to plummet to the 10th or 11th spot, NJ to end up at No. 3, and then for Portland's ping pong ball to pop that pick into the #1 position, thereby dropping NJ to the 4th spot. Could happen. The basketball fates owe Blazer fans big time.
If we're gonna keep playing at the level of losing by 29 at home against sub .500 teams, 6th is possible. I think Sac, Cleve, and Detroit can pass us. GS will def pass us.
