Blake is a very different player. He can shoot the three, but otherwise, he's just a conduit to get the ball from the backcourt to the better offensive players in the front court. He doesn't run the offense or set people up very well. Andre Miller isn't a good three-point shooter, but very good at running an offense and distributing the ball, creating better shot opportunities for teammates. Blake is younger, but I think his type of player can be replaced without a ton of trouble. Miller is a much better player and would make the team better now and for another couple of years if he were re-signed. Two and a half seasons is plenty of time to let Bayless come into his own and to find a new backup point guard.
Definite YES, no hesitation. Williams has already proven to be a top ten player in the league. Oden has not shown that he would ever be that.
Yes, no question in my mind. Deron makes his entire team play better... can you imagine Roy and Deron in the backcourt? That might be the best starting backcourt in history, easily the best playmaking guard rotation. With Bayless and Blake off the bench? We would immediately be favorites to win it all, IMO. Seriously: Deron/Bayless/Blake/Sergio Roy/Rudy Batum/Outlaw Aldridge/Diogu Przy/Frye Never gonna happen.
