I think it's been a slow, organic thing... the fraternity slowly self-selects for white supremacy just like this forum self-selects for loudmouthed men: nobody's barred from joining, but the environment is poisonous to people who think different than the cultural norm, and they eventually leave. In the police over the last 30 years, you've been self selecting for authoritarian conservatives, and that has morphed into racist fascism. Not intentionally, just by slowly expanding the "acceptable philosophy" into the range of racist fascism, and shrinking out of the range of liberal egalitarianism. The white nationalists might jump on the bandwagon near the end of the transformation, marking its completion into their kind of organization... but I don't think it was an intentional infiltration from the beginning.

Leadership does need to change. Im not blaming military for all the problems. I know a lot of prior military that made great officers. But i also know some that couldn't get over that us vs them mentality like they are still on the battlefield ready to protect thier own. But i agree leadership is a major issue. You know what. Now that im thinking about it i know guys with that mentality that werent military. Im going to do something that doesnt happen on the internet and admit my statement was wrong. Good talk.
Don't get hasty! I suspect the military does indeed attract the character type accountable for the traits as does police work.
