Looking at the stats posted, Jewish voters have been loyal to the D even during times when the party dominated the segregationist South. Nobody liked Jimmy Carter it seems.
Who knows, probably its in the culture. as previous generations influence future generations as to their political leanings, just like anything else.
alot of it is groupthink, like any large group. social issues change with every year, yet the support is the same over decades. to think that society is the same now as it was 30-40 years ago and that a political party holds the same ideology is foolish.
Like all the churches in the bible belt who blindly vote Republican? I have family that is in that group. Class warfare is kinda a bitch too.
Yes. alot of the modern day republican ideals don't even coincide with church teachings, but since its so ingrained in the culture, they think and vote that way.
