CJ is worth considerably less than all these guys mentioned. 130 M guaranteed for a 29 year old average efficiency scorer with no defense. This is not any team's franchise player.

CJ is 28 and he's been asked about by many teams....he is a franchise player in the eastern conference and he can light it up with a green light..his play beating the Nuggets in the playoffs last year was a value builder. Don't like him, fine but he's got a lot of respect around the NBA. I do not believe Neil will trade him anyway

Aldridge is clearly on the downside of his career. I can see some teams wanting him as a short-term rental or stop-gap, but I would expect them to only offer a discount price. Like Melo, I would only want him on a cheap deal and with the clear expectation that he accepts a limited role.

He will be 29 by the start of the next season. And if any team has CJ has their franchise player they would be a literal bottom feeder. Don't really see the point of labeling him a "franchise player" at that point.

In Portland he's not....on the Knicks he would be...but it's fine if you don't see him that way.

CJ and Zach for Lamarcus and Derrick White? I mean, I wouldn't do that if I were the Spurs, but if they're down on LA and have a high opinion of CJ... :dunno:

Aldridge is 7 years older than CJ and not exactly aging gracefully. What am I missing here? How does this help the Blazers?

It's like saying Zach Lavine is a franchise player....sure he's Chicago's franchise player, but you aren't going anywhere with him as your best player so what is the point in labeling him as such?

White is a pretty good player and Aldridge at age 34 is still a more efficient scorer than CJ. Not sure what your definition of "aging gracefully" means but he's technically the more efficient player even at the current moment.

Also we get out of that guaranteed 130 million dollar contract. I understand my opinion of CJ is quite low, but that production at that price....it's just not good.

Jordan Clarkson is averaging similar per 36 stats, on a similar PER, higher TS% and similar (none) defense. Is CJ better than Clarkson? Sure, but is his 3x better?? I'd rather have Clarkson at 12 million and then get another 20 million dollar guy.

Why would the Spurs trade their best bubble player (Derek White) just as they're starting to reap the benefits of developing him?

And I'm not sure why the Spurs would want CJ. They have a glut of guards.

the problem is LA is no longer a PF. not defensively. @$24/for one season does he start ahead of nurk or are we paying whiteside money for a backup? we would have $36 mil. of cap space tied up in i position. i like Dwhite's versatility but like Zach he is extension eligible this offseason too and believe SAS consider him 1 of their building blocks for the future.
