First off...if you want to mention how Kobe acted towards Cook, you must not have ever watched Michael Jordan. MJ yelled at his teammates all the time, actually. If Brian Cook gave Kobe a reason to yell at him, then big deal.

About having to miss practice or parts of games due to being at court...when? Kobe usually arrived on time, and maybe it was once where he missed, but not the entire game. Plus, the Lakers won every single game that fell on Kobe's court dates...so how was that a distraction? He got the job done...in fact, not only putting up great numbers, but one game-winner also...and the Lakers won those games.

As far as LeBron not dunking at the end of a game...when did Kobe do anything like that? To bring up that doesn't make sense unless you mention LeBron's three point attempt in the Cavs/Heat game this year, when Wade jumped up and goaltended the shot at the very end of the game. Why did Wade do that? Now...Wade's image is completely tarnished! [IMG]

Why's MJ in this? This is between Lebron and Kobe.

That's why I said "some" of the games, not all of it. The Lakers may have won all of those games, but can you still not call it a distraction? The team winning those particular games doesn't mean that it's not a distraction. As a coach, and a teammate, if your star player has off-court stuff like this, it's very much a distraction to them and the team. If that doesn't get through your head still, fine, since we're comparing Lebron and Kobe, how about this. Lebron doesn't have nearly as much the distractions that Kobe creates. Winning or not doesn't matter, Lebron is still the better teammate because he doesn't bring dramas, reporters, distraction around him. Better?

Once again... we are talking about Lebron and Kobe... Why's Wade even mentioned?? Are you that incompetent in arguing? Use the right premises.

MJ and Wade are being used as examples, but if they are irrelevant, then so be it.

What's incredible about this debate is that it's been a little more than 20 games into the season for Los Angeles, and same for the Cavs, and everyone is already judging on who's the better teammate. I would bet my life that if you put LeBron on the Lakers without Kobe, the Lakers would have the same exact record, if not worse, than they do right now...in fact, I'll lean towards a worse record. For so long, people claimed that Kobe was good because he had Shaq...well, how about if I think that way now? How about if I say that LeBron is good because he's got the second best center in the East? Hey...it makes him look like a better teammate, also.

Like I said...put LeBron on the Lakers, and he'd be frustrated that a "future All-Star" by the name of Odom and a potentially good player named Caron can't play ball in the West, compared to how good they were in the East.

I wonder how that would affect LeBron...but no, as long as he's making great dunks, he's a great teammate. When he passes the ball, he's a great teammate...no matter if the person connects to finish the play.

BSPN shows more of LeBron's passing and dunking than they do of any other player I've ever seen. However, I have a TON of Laker games recorded, and I've seen passes in those games by Kobe, more passes by the way, that make LeBron look selfish...but you don't see that on a 30 second clip of a Cavs game on BSPN or Fox Sports Net.

[IMG] I don't think going to the West makes player decline in skill lol

Look at Boozer....and Cassell before oldness kicked in [IMG]
The West have better teams, but players don't get drop offs from going West and then rises from going East, the teams are just better, Odom needs to be traded for Stackhouse and another Dallas player, Stack will never be shy to shoot [IMG]

Do you think people would still pick Kobe if this was last season? I really don't think they would to tell the truth, even if it was the year before, Lebron just seems to people like a guy you'd rather play with, maybe it' because he's young and bites his fingernails.

Also 3rd best center, Pape Sow is the second best center in the East, let's get serious here, he's going to be Ben Wallace with a slightly better offensive game, book it [lol]

Quoting Ice:

Putting the stats out the window I'd still pick Lebron.

Forget about the off court issues with Kobe as well because a lot of people go through legal issues. I don't even judge him for any of that because I know what it's like to have stuff against you.

I'd take Lebron for several reasons. I think he'd be the better teammate (not necessary the better player). He has the maturity and leadership skills, and gets along with everyone. Kobe has had a hard time getting along with people even before Shaq. He's a very independent person and would rather sit alone than chat with teammates. Lebron on the other hand seems more outgoing and just has the better personality for a team.

Yea, but see, that's the generalization Kobe gets, yet if you listen to a few of his interviews, he is much more playful, talks more, and even admits to 'chillin' and stuff with his teammates now. He says that itb was his fault before when he thought he had to focus 200% on basketball and not talk to anyone but do his job, but now he wants to socialize with them and become good friends. I mean, the next day after the Miami trade, he called Caron Butler up. He is trying, but people like you (not to single you out) are so numerous that it will take probably 2 or 3 seasons for Kobe's image as a team player to finally set in. I mean: Kobe is avging 28, 8, 7 and 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per. That is incredible for any player let alone a SG who handles all the offense and has to lock down his man on defense and usually guards the best player on the other team. In an un-biased opinion, Kobe has better defense and knows the game so much more that I would rathwer have him.

    Thanks for listening.
