Spurs are a weird team. We completely dominated them the last time they came to town. It wasn't even close. Then a couple weeks later we played at their place and they looked way better. I think it would be easier to win a game in Denver than it would be in SA but if you flip that it's easier to beat SA at home than Denver is.
It will be tough no matter what as both have an elite frontcourt player that can abuse us. That said, I may prefer the Nuggets youth to the Spurs experience, shooting, and coaching advantage.
Some of us, like me, wanted OKC--I didn't consider Westbrook a true superstar, their defense hadn't been great in the second half and they had been struggling offensively due to inconsistency which comes from lacking shooters. I'd rather get the Spurs. There's a reason they dropped to the 7 seed--they're not all that great. Denver isn't a juggernaut, but plays at a high level more often than the Spurs. Plus, we'd have home court advantage against the Spurs, whereas Denver has the hardest to adjust to HCA.
Spurs 1.) HCA 2.) LaMartha Aldridge 3.) No Jokic 4.) Too beat Pop That said, Blazers will be playing the Nuggets That said I think the Blazers can best either
I don't think they were trying to throw to adjust their seeding. I don't think they cared whether they were 3 or 4 and prioritized rest/less chance of injury going into the playoffs.
I mean its the Spurs I prefer, but I've said it a few times and Ill just go ahead and say it here. Just like OKC, Denver may have had our number in the regular season but they were all close games. I don't think they are as good defensively as OKC so it should provide Lillard and the team to get good looks, but they are def good at shooting, so thats a concern. Still, they are young and inexperienced and I think the Spurs took advantage of that a little bit, but just dont have the talent to keep up. I think we have the talent and can take advantage some of there youth and inexperience.
I think both SAS and Denver have a plethora of guys to throw at Dame / CJ that arent their best players. I think that makes a huge difference. OKC would throw PG13 at Dame or CJ but that got him foul trouble a lot. Denvers a really deep team that can change up their line up to match up better without losing much. I think whoever they play the Blazers are in for a real battle.
Interesting, I think Denver prepares them more roster wise and talent wise. I think SAS would be better preparation for coaching.
Wish "Doesn't Matter" was an option cos I'm changing from SAS to Denver. Playoffs are about vets..this Blazer team has been together and gone through so much that they are an experienced team now for sure. But even with all that SAS has even more playoff experience. Denver doesn't. I prefer the young nuggs. (edit: that sounds weird)
