Hahaha! You already know man Aldridge walks off the court in a Spurs Jersey and goes home and sleeps in his Blazers Jersey after Dame sends him packing.
Let's not act like GSW isn't plaything like shit, not getting along, and has a hungry Houston team waiting for them. I hope that Clips series goes 7.
I would agree but Torrey Craig seems to be playing ahead of Barton now and he is an excellent defender. Its close but I think I have to lean towards SA because of HCA.
My answer: I go with Dame and the team he wants to smackdown next! If it's against Aldridge and sends him back crying to his house of shoes, then that will simply be the icing on the cake.
I love these replies, because it gets at a pretty important truth--the Spurs are basically not playing like any other top team these days. They play a more deliberate, mid-range heavy offensive game in a league of pace and space. Defending Denver is much better practice for playing the Warriors, Rockets...or the Clippers. I still prefer the Spurs, though--not as good a team, HCA for the Blazers.
obviously, the practical choice is the Spurs for all the reasons mentioned the one mismatch I'd worry about would be Popovich vs Stotts
Best road teams this season are Bucks and Warriors (The respective conference leaders) and their away win rate is quite similar to Mavericks' home win percentage. So, there is that too.
Those regular season home/away splits are more due to travel, back to backs. Playoffs are totally different. I still prefer having HCA, it's not the disadvantage in the playoffs the regular season numbers suggest. Just see all the road underdogs winning one of first weekend road games, last weekend all 8 games having road team win, warriors series having road team winning four of five, etc.
I honestly think Pop is on his farewell tour...I see him retiring to his winery in Oregon and enjoying life....since Duncan and Manu are gone his demeanor has changed...doesn't look like he's invested in it like he was before...SA is going to rebuild in my view. I could see Becky Hammon taking over there.
See I disagree with the preconcieved notion that its a coaching mismatch. If that were true, then we'd for sure be playing SAS cos Denver/Malone and Portland/Stotts have very little if anything separating the two. I wasn't happy with Stotts performance against Gentry but I wasnt too happy with Dame either. I think both did good so far.
Not having Mo's defense after his injury for the New Orleans series was a huge setback...they just let Ed Davis become our offense....teams did that when we had Mason Plumlee as well...end of the game they'd be so open they'd be taking the important shots.
