That's taking a quote from me out of context and I felt you're taking my words as meaning something they don't. Cashman is just a regular guy who stepped in *it as far as I'm concerned. I just am not ready to give Dombrowski the credit I feel he should eventually deserve. I screamed for that team to build a bullpen after 2012 and then lost my breakfast, lunch and dinner as that bullpen essentially handed the Red Sox another trip to the WS - the Tigers were by far the better team.

If it makes you feel any better, I reneged on my stance and tried to get back to the topic at hand an voted on your poll. I think I'm in the majority for once according to the poll results.

No one can strike a deal like Beane, no one......

No one has done more with less, than Billy Beane.......while averaging the 4th lowest payroll, in the last 7 years, (2008).

Beane gets the most bang for his buck.......Who else on God's Green Earth, goes to Post Season Play more often, than most, with less?

NTM- who else has ever acquired any player in a trade, for only 1$.....?

If Beane were GM of a team lacking skinflint owners he's go to town.

    Exactly..........

Who can build a Team with less. Basically, without the funds to enable the A's keeping their better past players around.

If Beane had half of what the majority of teams pay out, he too would have a helluva bullpen......rather, The A's would be firing on all cylinders at all positions, IMO......

...yup, can you imagine what Cashman would have done with the A's payroll?...or what other GMs may have done with the Yanx' payroll?

Exactly, the entire Point of this convo, is that alone, what Beane could do with what other GM's are given to spend. As well as Trash-man, doing little to ensure another decade of dominance.

...bern, that certainly was not my intent...and if you took it that way, I apologize.
...but again, nobody said or implied that Dombrowski was the end all as far as GMs go. Like I explained, the only reason this poll was made is because there was a discussion in a different thread debating who was the better GM between the two. It had nothing to do with declaring Dombrowski as the best GM, but instead, the better GM when compared to Cashman.

...as far as how you chose to vote, that's entirely up to you.

which team would rather have Cashman over their incumbent GM? I cant recall over seeing a rumor that Cashman may leave and go to X team.

Cashman: the Good Lord doesn't want him and the Devil doesn't know what to do with him.

Beane just amazes the hell out of me when it comes to spoting talent. He could clean house & yet the team is always contending.

Sounds good, but you have to give Dombrowski some credit....
His Tigers HAVE WON... a WS game - (1-8) in two WS.

...and you said it without the aid of an interpreter...how impressive.

...btw, the vote stands at 7-0...but then again, it's still early.

And they're coming up at the far turn, its Beane on the outside, Dombrowski coming up on the inside & bringing up the rear is Cashman.

^^^Cashman doesn't "bring up the rear"....he takes it in the rear, and evidently likes it.
