I too think Harper will be a star, though I think giving up Deni is too big of a risk. That's why I was all for giving up some of those Bucks assets if Giannis were to go to Spurs. We would get Harper for those assets instead of the Bucks. I have a bigger belief in Scoot than what's at #7. So I wouldn't touch that.
it would be tough pill to swallow to trade Deni but we’re still in need of that one superstar and I think Harper could be so I’d do it as far as Scoot I’m still big fan and think he has potential to be star just not convinced after 2 years makes me concerned. id trade him if we got 7th pick and then pick a player to hopefully fill need at another position
I thought those three months of Scoot were absolutely incredible last season. Both sides of the ball. They need to clear the pathway and I have no doubt that if they did, he will blossom. His work ethic is way too strong as displayed by his pretty fast shooting turn around. In regards to Deni, I think there's potentially a star or superstar in there. For all of us clamoring for size, Deni brings it. I'd probably say no to both deals. Honestly, the best thing we can do is clear Ant out and let Shae and Scoot have a full season of having the responsibility as starters. Then we can better assess our needs.
I agree with you on Harper. He will be a superstar. But I think SA knows that too. I can't see them doing it. Harper and Castle can play multiple positions. They are set up very nicely.
Question: do you think that Cade Cunningham is a "superstar"? Because I don't, and everyone seems to think that Harper is not as good as him - worse shot, worse defense.
So hear me out a bit. I'm wondering what it would take to get that 3rd pick from the Sixers. Does Portland have enough to give them a true contender around Embid plus giving up the 11th pick to get them to part with #3? In my opinion Ace Baily is exactly the kind of player this team needs.
He does seem like the sort of similar big swing that they took on Sharpe. I dunno if I trust him to put it all together, but I'd sure like to try and see. That being said, I dunno if we have what it takes without it hurting. Would Philly do Deni for 3? Would we really want to?
That seems like what it would cost. I don't know cap strategies well enough to know what they could possibly do on a bigger contract kind of player. Seems to me Grant would play well there.
Their salary structure really ducks for making deals. It's basically Embiid, George, Maxey, and then a bunch of contracts under 8 million. SO if George is matching, then they're not really "going for it" per se, because he's better than Grant, just overpaid to all hell.
You are probably right, but at 35 years old compared to 31 years old, will Philly think he will continue to better, while paying him 20 million a year more the next 3 years.
