I liked this idea ...four years ago. This ship has sailed. Is he a winner? He puts up great stats (offensively) but he's one of the worst defensive wings in the League. He also holds a 17-36 Playoff career record.
Because LMA can defend a bit, and is a better player at this point than Stoudemire and his 17.7 PER this year.
Anthony strikes me as another Zach Randolph. He could be a great teammate if he gets dumped by enough teams that his ego gets downsized. I'm not sure that Portland would be that team, but if we could get him the same way Memphis got Z-Bo, I'd be game. Assuming, of course, there weren't better options out there.
I'd rather hire D'Antoni and then sign Lin. Watching Lin lead the Knicks was much more fun and exciting then watching Melo 'lead' them.
