Porter Jr. Records First Triple-Double of G League Season in Vipers Big Win over BayHawks

    Rio Grande Valley Vipers News Release

    Houston Rockets assignee Kevin Porter Jr. recorded the first triple-double of the NBA G League season and for the Vipers (4-8) since 2019 in today's big 124-113 win over Erie BayHawks (8-2) at AdventHealth Arena.

    Porter Jr. totaled 27 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists (career-high) while shooting 45.8% from the field. Newly integrated rookie Anthony Lamb finished with a career-high of 32 points, 12 rebounds in 36 minutes of play as he recorded his first career double-double in his first professional start. He shot 63.2% from the field and a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line, while dishing out four assists and two steals.

    Rookie Trevelin Queen had his first professional start with a career-high of 29 points and six steals, contributing three rebounds with zero turnovers. Armoni Brooks came off the bench to add 12 points and three rebounds, while shooting 50.0% from beyond the arc.

    For Erie, Justin Wright-Foreman led the way with 28 points from off the bench. Will Magnay totaled 10 rebounds with six points and three assists.

    The first quarter was led by the BayHawks 30-26, but the Vipers came in hot in the second quarter to outscore them 62-57. Trhae Mitchell hit a three-point shot at the buzzer going into the half.

    RGV kept the consistency throughout the third frame of the matchup and continued to lead 94-87. Lamb notched 12 points in the quarter, giving him a total of 22 going into the last frame of the game. In the fourth quarter, Lamb continued scoring as he shot 5-7 from the field, totaling 10 points in the frame.
