Any team with CP3 can get out of the first round regardless of the coach. If you remember the team was "tanking" towards the end of the season because they wanted Del Negro gone but CP3 would have none of it.

A team with a healthy Brandon Roy and Aldridge should be able to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Several hires who are available out there > Bickerstaff > Del Negro > Stotts > Canales

I am really hoping the double secret 5th candidate is David Blatt, and I hope to hell he gets the job.

After their in-depth interviews and learning the team's plans for the next few years, like dozens before them Stott and Canales have both respectfully withdrawn their names from consideration.

I'm still leaning towards it being most likely they will select Stotts, because they know Canales will stay no matter what and they really need as many teachers and hardworkers as possible with this young team. I'm also hoping they can make some kind of offer to one of the other finalists to come on with the Blazers at a higher pay rate.

I don't think there were any other more qualified candidates available who were willing to take on a teaching role with a young team.

Nonsense. All the top assistant coaches in the league are eager to be promoted to Blazer Head Coach, and get the giant raise. There is no reason to hire one of the lowest assistants in the league.

Olshey's Clipper strategy is to drive this team into the ground for many years while waiting for high draft picks to accumulate. It didn't work with the Clippers until Chris Paul joined them, only because they're in Los Angeles.

It's common knowledge Paul Allen is a mysogynist, but if he really wanted to win here are some women coaches far more qualified than Stott or Canales to teach a young rebuilding team:

    Kathy Delaney-Smith
    Juliene B. Simpson
    Barbara Stevens
    Marsha Sharp
    Deirdre Kane
    Bonnie Henrickson
    Gail Goestenkors
    Theresa Grentz
    Muffet McGraw
    Joanne Boyle
    Sue Ramsey

Mrs. McIntosh, my mean 5th-grade teacher, would be a better coach than Stotts or Canales, even in her present condition underground.

I am not sure you need to be respectful about it.

Agree 100%. May as well have an energetic coach who is all about player development since the All-Star on the team endorses him. Plus, he'll be cheap.

They're cartoon characters. Not the Apartment 3G type, either.

Neither Whitsitt, Pritchard, nor John Nash would have dreamed of staining our roster with Ronnie Price, Sasha Pavlovic, or Jared Jeffries. Olshey is stocking the pond with terrible players to move up in the draft. He thinks like a Clipper.

A quick look at the Whittsit era.

    Hired Carlesimo and Cheeks
94-95 signed Negele Knight Steve Hensen and James Edwards as FA's. LOL look at their numbers the year before we signed them.
95-96 brought in Rumeal Robinson......I am on vacation or I'd continue. You are simply trying to be difficult.

You're delusional if you think Blazers GM's have had anything at all to do with the coaches Paul Allen selected and hired. Nor would any other GM have hired them for their team at the time.
