Just to throw this out there....with his contract up at seasons end, how would Allen Iverson work with the Blazers?

I just don't see it realistic that we trade away Blake, Outlaw and Frye for Wallace. Three guys who are what they are, solid role players with no upside from where they currently are as players for a guy who's already a star. It just doesn't make sense. I also don't think thats the way it would go down because we wouldn't have a point guard that could start now. Sergio is a solid bench player that brings spark, but by no means ready to start against top level PG's in the league. Bayless is definitely not ready to play the point, he's never played consistently at the position and his point guard skills are unknown.

That seems like an excellent deal for you guys, and something the money-conscious Bobbies would consider. I don't think it's at all "too much" to give up. Basically you're giving up three bench guys for a very high quality starter.

The only downside I see is that on the shooting front, I agree he's not the ideal complement to your existing guys. But he does give you a different look, and you've got alternate solutions to a spot up shooter. I'd expect at least one of Bayless, Fernandez and Webster are going to come through as a pretty good one.

But if you really want a shooter, Andres Nocioni is shooting 40% from behind the arc this year. :)

The trouble is even with Greg healthy we're still mostly a perimeter oriented team, and once Oden comes back he can't be expected to shoulder the entire load inside the paint (though Lamarcus has shown much more of a post game lately which is nice).

Frankly, I think with Martell coming back as a zone buster, Rudy's great outside shooting, and Brandon's excellent mid-range game I think we've got more than enough jump shooting with this team.

I don't know how realistic it would be, but I'd do this in a second:

I would do that trade but I really doubt the Bobcats would even think about that right now.

All trade talk aside...your power rankings are broken if you have Portland 27th.

I hate to admit it but Barkely is right, we need to stop relying on the jump shot. We need more penetration something Wallace could give us. BTW it's been mentioned several times that Martels new contract actually makes him easier to trade. If Charlotte wants to trade with us I could see them waiting for Martel to come back from injury before trading Wallace to us. I would prefer to keep Martel but management seems to have a love affair for Travis so maybe Websters the odd guy out and we get Adam Morrison (YUCK!) in the trade. The sacrifice we make to get Wallace.

crossing my fingers, those guys are all more LB guys than Wallace (save Outlaw perhaps...and it saves Charlotte some money, but this would really make Roy make the leap to PG (which I'm fine with really).

    Roy(34)/Sergio(14)
    Bayless(20)/Ferandez(28)
    Webster(24)/Wallace(20)
    Aldridge(32)/Wallace(16)
    Oden/Pryzbilla

and Batum as the guy if anyone is hurt. I like it a lot, everyone knows their role, less drama, tons of athleticism.

it saves them a lot of dough too though and if wallace doesn't fit in, it's 50 million dollars worth of player that doesn't fit in.

Man sign me up for this one!! I would love to do that.

    Sergio\Bayless\*Roy
    Roy\Rudy\*Bayless
    *Wallace\Webster\Batum
    LMA\*Wallace\Ike
    Oden\Joel\S-Bo

    I really like that lineup!

I think you're assigning way too few minutes to the starters and Rudy, this is a more likely distribution in my opinion (without the clearly defined PG, SG roles)
Roy (37) Rudy (34) Sergio and Bayless (25)
    Wallace (25) Webster (18) Batum (5)
LMA (37) Wallace (10) Diogu and Randolph (5)
    Greg (30) Joel (18)

I like the trade buy WHO is our backup PF? - Ike does not get it done for me. I think we need to keep Frye or TO.

Wallace might pick up some spot minutes at the 4 (in smaller lineups) and Diogu is probably OK for a few spot minutes here or there. You can't expect starter quality production from all of your reserves.

Why do you care? It's not your money.

Paul Allen is currently paying $30 million to Steve Francis and Raef Lafrentz to stay the hell away from our team.

For Gerald Wallace? I'm guessing he'd be willing to fork over $11 million per year with no second thoughts.

Honestly, more shooting is the last thing we need. What we really need is someone who takes it to the basket hard and draws fouls. Roy can do this, but ends up settling for jump shots a lot (but makes them, so hard to complain there). Really, Wallace would be a great solution to this.

With Brandon, Rudy, and Lamarcus on the floor we don't need to have a shooter at the 3.

I don't want to give up both Frye and Outlaw though. No. No. No.

Why isn't couldn't the following work?

    Lafrentz, Frye, and Blake

Lafrentz, Frye, and Bayless (I would expect another quality player back)

Lafrentz, Frye, and Webster (same here)
