But Meyers looks to be his first assignment to guard.

Like I said before George definitely has potential to be a third option at center. Regardless how we all feel about Meyers....he makes too much not to play. Ideally if he looks good in practice, we can hide him and sign him before summer league so no one else offers more. How much can we offer for a 3rd string center ..........before we sign our other more important FAs?

"Not in a game, but it works wonders against the basketball operations people".

Meyers is actually way faster and a much better player. Not much chance of that.

If we need our centers to be fast and a good 3 point shooter, then Yes Meyers is our guy. But do we?
I think we need a cheap 3rd string guy who can battle down low. Cheap being the optimal word.

-He's only 20. A baby in Centers terms.
    -7'1
-Can make hook shots, even from longer distance.
-Shows some sparks on defense (good timing on blocks).
-Dunks the ball when he's near the basket.

So he's not extremely athletic or shoots threes, still looks like a great guy to audition.

FYI: Whiteside was also thrown away by the Kings.

Meyers might be fast in a 50 yard dash, I don't know. But IMO he may have the worst fast twitch muscles in the NBA, his reaction time is simply horrible and his lateral movement the same.

Its a cheap way to find a role player. We really don't need a player in this status unless Neil and staff found a diamond for cheap.

The most punishable center is Sidney Crosby. Different sport though.

We got GP, great! We could use an HOF lockdown PG. Wait, what?

It's just another 10 day contract to get to the league min #players. He's auditioning for a summer league job.

We're going to need PapaG on the bench next season after we trade Meyers, Turner and Aminu for LeBron (trade stolen from SportsAndWhine)

So I went and watched a full papa g game. Slovenia vs Greece from Eurobasket last summer. Papagiannis was a backup the whole tournament but started this game. Slovenia had Dragic and Doncic in their backcourt along with Anthony Randolph up front, so it was a good test for Papagiannis.

    What stood out:

    - Very good in the pick and roll. It stood out in highlight mixes but I got a better sense of it in an actual game. He can move, sets a mean screen, and has good hands. This is a staple in our offense with Nurkic and Papagiannis can be an option there as well.

    - Rim protection. His length really bothered Slovenia and made a big impact...for 3 quarters.

    - Conditioning. Papagiannis and Greece has control of the game until the fourth quarter. He was gassed and it was evident. His screens weren’t as sharp and he slowed down considerably.

    - Hook shot. He has a hook shot and it’s pretty much unblockable. Problem is it needs more consistency.

    - Fire. I’ve seen him get in some altercations in highlights and this game was no different. At around 1:18:00 Doncic got in his face and he didn’t back down.

So pretty much I saw a guy worth developing. He didn’t embarrass himself when left on an island against nba talents and showed he can make an impact on both ends. I thought he was Greece’s best player up until he got tired. If he can get into shape, and as he matures, I think he’s got a place in the NBA. At the very worst he can be an above average backup.

There isn’t one SF in Europe or somewhere that this spot could’ve went to? I find that hard to believe.
