He doesn't box out. It's that simple.

I finally got around to watching the game. CJ and TRob really stood out to me. Great hustle and smart play (definitely warranting legit minutes in the regular roation). Willy was hitting shots but still somewhat crazy. He's gotta learn to balance that with smart decision making.

But WTF, Leonard?! This dude is still making the same dumbass mistakes he was as a rookie 2 yrs ago. Why does he hack guys down low when they're 5 feet from the basket instead of contesting up top? And stop shooting 3s-- you're only pissing me off further. I don't care if I have to eat crow or have egg on my face 3 yrs from now, but waive this fool already. Or at least ship him to the DL for the full season. I don't even wanna see him on the bench.

I agree he did not play the point well, which I predicted. But he did score and as I recall hit a couple game tying/winning 3's.
I believe he made one of the all summer league teams last year. Again he was not great, but just not as bad as some have said.

It's one of the most annoying things about people bringing up other centers who had poor stats early in their careers. All of them who are brought up had great defensive awareness. he has ZERO

Honestly, the thing that's driving me up the wall is that it doesn't seem like he's working on the things that he should be working on. Why is he developing a three point shot? Wasted time.

True...... he does not. However on the plus side he already has more offensive skills then most of them ever ended up with (i.e Joel Pryz) But yes i know he is a fucking center, so who the hell cares about his offense........

wait, Antonio Harvey and a few others are now saying he's a stretch 4 in this league, let the wild geese (3's) fly Meyers! Though you are still worthless

CJ is undersized but he's a smart defender with the length to play SG full-time.

He reads angles and takes angles away so well already!

Offensively, I think he's Rip Hamilton.

Defensively, he's showing Eric Snow potential.

Why Rip Hamilton? Rip was 6'7" and used his height. Not seeing that

He can hit the outside shot but a lot of his damage will be coming off screens.

I missed the game, but I read this and all I could visualize was the Leeroy Jenkins video on YouTube.

They must really believe he's the next Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk didn't have a clue on defense most of his career but a hell of a 3 pt shot. I agree with Tone that Meyers is not a 5 but a stretch 4.

CJ got his shot blocked all the time in the few minutes he played actual NBA competiion. He needs a faster release when he's playing top notch guards come regular season. I hope it translates. One thin for sure, he's a smart player.

I swear he got that from here. A few of us were saying that his soph season and Tone started saying it shortly after. The issue is he is not a good enough stretch 4 to play it. He is not nearly smooth enough on offense.

He would be ok during situational situations requiring a big man with good free throw shooting.

I only got to each 6 minutes live, watching it now. I saw the box score, looks like CJ went off.
