IM tired of the F'ing bubble. So apparently to call someone a troll on here is an insult and to call someone posting illogical is an insult. Whats next? If you don't address me by name or by the word human, i'm gonna consider it an insult.. Beware!!!!! So since i'm obviously ignorant, what are the insulting words we shouldn't call anyone? Is the word childish an insult? Is immature? I need to know so I don't have to step on eggshells so often with certain people around here. So lets get this list straightened out. What is an insult?
The reality is you're calling someone deliberately disingenuous, insincere, offensive, and other such things. And if they are not these things? Seems rather insulting.
Okay, so... Disingenuous insincere offensive These are insulting apparently. Okay so then should I feel insulted when he trolled me ? It has to go both ways. If you don't want to be called insincere, then don't shift a conversation to illogical comments. I mean really. I would expect to be called a troll if I equated spitting on the sidewalk as the same as vandalism. It doesnt make sense, so I would expect people to call me out. Apparently, some people cant handle being called out? So okay, im learning. What else is an insult? I think I was insulted when I was told that spitting is equal to spitting. It was an attempt to degrade my intelligence. Come on now... Try again please.....
Also, btw, I never used any of those words you said I DELIBERATELY said....If someone assumes that is the intent, that's on them for twisting the words I DID say around in their head. Where is the truth around here....
No. That's what troll means. Like in the dictionary means: troll2 /trōl/ noun noun: troll; plural noun: trolls 1. a person who makes a deliberately offensive or provocative online post. And so the word troll elicits a response. I'm not saying one shouldn't say it, I'm just saying it pisses people off if one is wrong and they aren't trolling. It's like when one calls someone an asshole because one misunderstood them. Whoops, feeling get hurt.
And his post I felt was deliberately trying to provoke me instead of contributing to the debate. If you are offended, then don't try to deliberately provoke, no?
oh wait, I get it now, its a do as I say not as I do around here right? Okay to post deliberately provocative posts, but not okay to call those posts out. I'm still learning, thanks for the education.
When I first heard the word troll, I immediately thought about The Rat Fink Trolls that were popular in the early sixties.
Shit, i've called myself out for trolling on here. I'm insulted. I'm gonna go bitch at myself for a while now for being so rude and calling myself out.
I have been watching that old show Rome from HBO lately. I'm just going to start calling people "Citizen." I think that should cover all manner of gender and race, no?
No. Because not everyone is a citizen. Some are illegal immigrants and I believe they would find that insulting.
If posted by a conservative, it's an insult regardless of whether it's true or not. If posted by a lib it's fine.
They are literal. Not sarcastic at all and i'm not meaning to come off as such. I'm simply saying, of one is insulted by being called a troll, then they should put more thought into their posts that seem to be trolling by the person it was directed to. If one isn't insulted by being called a troll, then by all means, post whatever you like and troll away.
No I have a nickname a few friends use. I have screen names. When I am a customer, miss or ma'am are OK. Sweetheart is not.
Do you have a link to what you're talking about? If you didn't mean it as a personal insult then say that and move on. If you did mean as an insult then please stop. It's as simple as you want to make it. People need to be honest about themselves. I troll sometimes. I fully admit it. If in trolling/having fun/stirring the pot I hurt someone's feelings then I have no problem apologizing and moving on. And if someone wants to call me a troll and I'm trolling then fuck it, I'll own that. What I don't get is if someone is trolling/stirring the pot, then gets called a troll, they get all butt hurt.
Pretty sure nobody has made that mistake with you. Many women find miss or ma'am insulting, while sweetheart has a more genuinely caring connotation to it. The kindest, most giving man I've ever known called all women "sweetie", regardless of looks, age, rank, race... He always meant it literally and they always appreciated it. I think Lanny was being sarcastic and not trolling if it is about the "saw a guy spit on the street...world is going to pot" comment. Could be wrong.
