Porzingis may or may not be better overall than Nurk, but a better match up against the Warriors? I would think a center who is more physical and likes to play down low would be more effective than a center who often plays on the perimeter like Porzingis. The Warriors like to go small, and Green could probably cover Porzingis on the perimeter, at least more than he can cover Nurk down low. You can't beat the Warriors at their own game IMO.

Totally agree. Porzingis is a better match-up against the Warriors.....if you are playing their game. But you aren't going to beat them at their game so I completely believe you have to be bigger and stronger while being able to defend.

Oh, and when GS goes small ball you're telling me Nurkic can cover Green or Durant??
You are making the same mistake OKC did against Miami in the finals a few years back.

Even Shaq ,the most dominant big guy ever, lost the Lakers a series because the Pistons repeatedly put him in a pick and roll with Billups and Hamilton. He was too big and slow to defend their backcourt.

You can't beat the Warriors at their own game, but you start by adding guys who can match up with them defensively.

Which is why a lot of Blazer fans are hoping to see guys like Anunoby and Ojeleye get picked up tomorrow.

Nurkic is mobile and fleet of foot - there's nobody his size that could do a better job guarding Green. Vonleh is also built to defend guys like Green but switch onto Durant/Klay when necessary. Vonleh's switch defense was the brightest part of his game this past season.

You think Porzingis can cover Green or Durant when they go small? Neither of them can. What I am suggesting is slow the game down and have Nurk punish Green down low. The Warriors are better perimeter defenders than they are defending down low. I admit neither scenario would probably end well for us, but I do think it is better than trying to play a center on the perimeter while on offense.

If you really wanted to match up with them defensively........neither Nurk or Porzingis would even be on the floor.

Phil Jackson also basically confirmed in an interview they're shopping KP. Sounds like he's gone to the highest bidder....

    It'd take a blockbuster.

A Dame package would get it done.
