I like Allen a lot too. Next draft has a bunch if bigs that we can draft. I’d love to draft Aaron Bradshaw to be backup C.

    Yes he would.

No they wouldn't, and precisely BECAUSE that would be a steal.

Talking of Allen, this is super-wholesome:

Explain. Is this a literal rule that says you can't S&T somebody with more than a 4 year contract?

    That's the rule.

I’d really rather not get into a tanking habit

Seen it two years in a row now, and I’d like to see the young guys try to win. Sooner we get this young core some playoff experience, the better.

Sure it’s worked. But it’s worthless if you aren’t looking to win at some point. Why not now?

Both of them seem to favor giving massive overpays to players that makes it hard to trade them. Miami started it with Juwan Howard.

yep...and a S&T is limited to 5% step raises instead of 8%. The limits of a S&T are the same as the limits imposed on a contract when one team signs another team's free agent.

I still don't get why Joe did the deal with Grant. Any ideas? Did he do it to satisfy Dame then he went and asked out anyways? Did Dame intentionally mislead by having Joe re-sign Grant then demand out?
I guess it is a tradable asset but why give him so much?
I just really don't get the Grant deal unless the plan is to 100% move him at the deadline.

He's a 29 year old forward who is okay at defense and can shoot the three. He's an asset. We wasted assets on him. I will be surprised if we don't trade him by the deadline.
