LOL - My bad guys. Sorry 62, didnt mean to disrespect you so much. This board is in meltdown mode just not as bad as I thought
BTW, I think its a bit of a stretch to say Nash is injury prone. He has missed 68 games in his career over 10 years. That is far from perfect but he plays a pretty physical game I dont think that is bad. He generally misses 4-7 games a year historically. How exactly is that "injury prone". It's not like he is missing 20+ games every other year
Not a problem Dis. The last 2 games have been brutal and everyone is probably a little unwound. As far as Nash, I specifically said since he's been here. He had the groin issue to start last season, then a concussion, now another concussion. There might have been something else in there too. Props to him for trying to play through it all, and maybe that's why he's had stretches where he didn't play too well. The concussions could start becoming a problem. When you get one, each succeeding one makes you more susceptible to another. I'm a little worried about it.
I worry about concussions too....But the only issue I had with Nash last year was his playoffs which were horrible. He was great in the regular season. He scored 21 goals many of them in tight games in the 3rd. His playoffs were horrific that is concern. Hopefully no more head shots
No doubt he had a lot of 3rd period goals. He also had a lot of goals in stretches, then long periods with nothing. He disappeared at the end of the season, then carried that into the playoffs. I don't remember when he had his concussion. Was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt that his bad stretches came when he wasn't feeling too well. Amazing that he gets his 2nd concussion in less than a year while with NYR. I don't remember hearing he ever had one before.
Maybe so but losing Nash and getting outscored 15-2 in 2 games might just provoke some changes. At any rate I am not going to assess our window of a championship team after 4 games
You are the best sc. Just sit back and wait. In 2025 when we still haven't won anything we should all get together for beers. We will give you a shirt that says be patient...sit back and relax....
Just keeping it on the real tip Chuckles. Remember you yourself said yesterday the fanbase needs to take a step back? I'm not talking 5 years even, but next year they need to start re-adjusting half the roster.
See that's where you guys are caught in the Sather/NY web, you need to look past this year, it ain't happening no matter what limited moves they can finagle out of DZ(rolls eyes)and a few B-prospects. It's about using next year to get AV caliber FA's and get some of these young guys up to speed. Not looking ahead leaves you caught in THESTEALTHWEB!!
So you're still expecting this team to make enough magical moves to contend for a SC this year? That's stage 1 of SC's self-denial plan I'm trying to get you through.
You don't get it do you. I am not saying you are wrong. I am not saying we are winning a cup this season (although I will not make that call after 4 games). What I am saying is the sit back passive fan attitude is done here. Just wait...and wait...and wait. Tomorrow never comes. All we do is wait as Ranger fans. Enough is enough. So I am not saying your message is flat out wrong. I am saying enough of the waiting BS. We as fans should be fed up with this organization and hold them accountable for a winner NOW.
Right and I agree with being angry, but looking realistically at what we're dealing with today we can only HOPE that after some of this garbage is off the team the new staff and system, and player choices will add to some good players that are here. I just think alot of fans went into this year thinking it was on paper a contending team when they're still way behind the top 4-5 teams in the league. I've been on the 3-4 year plan since last year not because it's passive but because we're stuck with 30% of the roster being very poor and those contracts had to expire. That's why I think GS has to step away since I don't think he knows what he's doing in FA, or dosen't want to take the time examining it, or whatever. That kills certain aspects of the team. What gives me hope is they do have a new coach/system in place that works in todays NHL, plus they have 7-8 pieces to build around, but they have to get FA right in the next year or two and make sure the prospects develop as best they can to add cheap depth. Whether that all comes together in a year or two or three, who knows?
What's one or two more years if we finally get rewarded with a real looking hockey team that can make a run for a few years under AV? I'm not a NYY fan but I see alot of the same traits in Ranger fans as they have, not willing to sacrifice 2-3 years to develop youngsters like they did in the early 90's which made them successful. They also added good FA which we unfortunately haven't really done since 1994.
