I enjoyed all 3, but the one I enjoyed the most was El Duque. Also Jimmy Key age 32-35 (as a Yankee).
Never liked Clemens, another arrogant asshole who got caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Jimmy Key & Cone did well for the Yankees , keep Cone out of the Booth. El-Duque, there was a classic. Went to an Astros Yankees Spring Training game in Kissimmee. I was sitting third base side first row and got a great look at his style, I know the Yankees need to adjust their pitching but I'd sure hate to see them spend millions of dollars for non-producing has been people. No to resigning Biggie as well, if he wants to be the next Bartolo Colon then let that happen elsewhere. Anyone remember those shirts from the mid-eighties: "Winfield, Mattingly, Hendersonect ect, who needs pitching" The Yankee Teams from '84 to '88 had fine position players but no pitching.
Lord I remember that era really well. Somewhere I got an old Sports Illustrated from that time frame, which broke down some crazy ass statistics, which revealed 87% of the Yankees games were won by offense back then. Just like you said.
In Mid-September of 1985 the Blue Jays arrived at Yankee Stadium for a four game series with the Yankees hot on their tail. The Yankees won Game one, I had tickets for games 2 & 3. Unfortunately the Yankees lost those games and game four as well. Jimmy Key pitched a complete game for a win while Righetti shit the bed in relief. Winfield stranded 11runners in that series, Baylor was just as bad. Those were the last games I actually saw at the stadium.
I'm beginning to wonder about Judge. At the beginning of the season he told Machado how good he'd look in Pinstripes. Now he's trying to convince Harper to come to the Yankees. First of all seems like he's jumping the Chain of Command. Harpers value showed itself in his final DC Year. Let the Phillies sign Harper. They won't say what team it is but one huge player with the bucks has already ruled out Manny "Snail" Machado after he showed his ass in the World Series.
^^^^^Please tell me you are imagining this! He will be a “Stanton” from the left side...... He is one of the most obnoxious baseball players ever......yes, Clemens was bad....this guy is “ s e l f i s h”. Another Yankee zoo.
Checking out qualifying offers and such looks like the Indians Lindor & Ramirez excepted are going to have a fire sale.
I don't think we need Harper or Machado. I'm cool with Happ and Corbin. Maybe pursue second baseman D.J. LeMahieu and/or a left-handed bat like Michael Brantley. Then pursue a trade for a stud pitcher like de Grom, Bumgarner, Kluber, etc.
Pitching didn’t get us to the World Series. Pitching must be priority to get there. So what does Trashman do? He goes after infielders.......and off waivers, no less! Ugh!
