Put in a little effort and you can get out of poverty. My wife got grants to pay for one year of school which she attended dental assistant school at ccc with. Upon graduation she got paid $16/hour. The top dental assistant at her office makes $30/hour. Boom. Easy easy easy.
Not that a hundred years of interference can be undone, but the notion that frustrates me more than any other is the idea that somehow it is incumbent upon the government to manage the nation's financial situation in the first place. The government should be responsible for infrastructure (physical, not financial), defense, legislation, adjudication, and I guess education (although there's certainly an argument to be made against that). There are so many things that the government is involved in that are outside the scope of what its responsibilities should be that I can understand why so many tend toward voting for candidates with socialist leanings, because trying to reverse the present course will probably do more harm than good at this point. It's pretty much impossible to put the toothpaste back into the tube.
FDR's administration would probably disagree. When it comes to rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure, it's going to take Government teamed with Private Enterprise to get it done. I saw Trump complain about how China has nicer airports than we do... I just shook my head and said but no one wants to pay for them... Paying for them (spending) creates jobs....

Ironically I've found that sometimes the harder you work as a youngin, coupled with good interviewing skills gets you jobs that you get paid more money and don't have to work as much
Until that company realizes that they are paying you too much for your experience and dumps you for some fresh meat at half the cost.
I think it was his doing. He signed the republican bill to balance the budget. He let government shrink due to attrition.
