Because even before he just had outside chances. Jokic is dominating in every stat category and Harden since that trade is a monster and winning games for Brooklyn by his own without KD and Kyrie averaging 26/11/9
Personally i think for the most part the MVP award is a team award. If players pick up a bunch of lose ends. Making shots that lead to assists. Defensive stops that help overall defensive rating. Open up the court for Dame to thrive he will in fact win a bunch of games to end this season. All this adds up to a better team and a better record. Dame being the Leader is then looked at in a much better light. He has this year and maybe 1 or 2 more years to get this or he will be on the decline and it will probably be out of reach. Another issue is Luka is lurking. That dude is obviously going to be in the conversation as well as Jokic for a number of years.
it's actually the last 4 games that Dame has been shooting like Bazemore. I know it's an 'excuse', but IIRC, Dame's shooting problems started right after a player (was it Josh Richardson?) landed on his knee in a scramble. Dame hasn't had his normal lift on jump shots or his regular burst on dribble drives. I'd like to see him get the next 3 games off; that would give him a 9 day break from action
That sounds good, if we have Ambitions to be a great Team, we should beat the Pistons and OKC without Dame, no excuse. That bucks game is already a L. First game after long road trip and they have been kicking our asses for years
Oh boy! I hope i get to repost this. Home game after a days rest and only the second game in 5 days with Nurk and CJ back and the addition of Powell. That game is far from a guaranteed loss. I'm not a betting man but if I were I'd put $100 down on the Blazers for that one. Lets see what the odds are by the end of the week?
I watched the Clippers absolutely dismantle the Bucks last night. Blazers have just as many weapons against them as the Clippers did in that game. Clippers beat them badly without PG or Beverly but had 4 players with 20 or more points. Crazy part was the Bucks were getting to the line.
Blazers always bad first game back from road trip. Havent looked it up, but I always pay attention to it, its crazy how many times they come back and you think 'great, back home, get some wins' and they lose.
That's a completely false narrative cooked up by you and @AldoTrapani. Last I checked those five games increased his assists per game stayed virtually the same and he stayed at second in the league in scoring. The fact is if Dame has the numbers that he has at the end of the season and this team has a top four seed then he might have a slight chance at the MVP. I never thought that the team around Dame was complementary enough to get him the MVP but media was into it and if Dame ends the season by going supernova for the last ten games the media (who decide the MVP) will be bullish on him... but still probably not give it to him based on the lack of success of the team. All of that said, make no mistake about it... five games averaging 23.2 ppg and 7.8 apg on a little less effective shooting and fewer turnovers than your season average, while hobbled, is not going to kill a MVP campaign.
Yeah that does happen. They say it's like another road game. This one will be as well because it's a two game B2B home stand and back out on the road to go play the Clippers.
Thing about curry and Thompson there moving around screens to get open looks our two it's more just iso or PNR but most the time there keeping the ball. To me they can get have there shots but as long majority of those comes with some kind of offense. Our offense is more read a react what the defense doing. But the problem is we got 2 guards hasn't seen they didn't like. Has it work you can they score a lot of points but if there not hot we struggle. Just like to more balanced within the offense. Last in the 1st half we had great balance in shots and selection score a lot points even though down it wasn't offense put us there. Second not so much and we start struggling a little bit.
I like stats, but some are just absolutely fucking ridiculous. Be like somebody hitting 3 three's in two minutes and somebody saying that's averaging 180 points a game. That stat there is the same kind of absurdity
Jordan, Lebron, Kobe, Garnett, Duncan, David Robinson, Hakeem, Giannis. That's just the last 30 years... Over half were very good defenders.
