OK, last one: Have to say, Meyers can easily claim to have had the most impressive preseason of any Blazer, which is pretty amazing.
I didn't catch all the games on TV, but I think the biggest difference is the improved team defense. Very weird to see a lot the same guys playing engaged, actual determined defense.
They clearly came into camp with something to prove on that end so it was nice to see the talk backed up on the court. Especially Dame. I don't know how much he'll be able to sustain the elevated energy/activity/focus we saw from him this preseason, but if he can continue to lead by example here, I think that'll be huge towards elevating the play of our more talented defensive players.
Not to leave the bench during a scuffle. Even if you're just going for a stroll, and have no intent on joining the scuffle. Oh, unless you're Lebron James, of course
If his defense was good enough to get him 30mpg, you don't think he'd average 10ppg? He averaged almost 10ppg in preseason. He can shoot and move off the ball, which fits well and would get him some buckets playing with our starters.
So if Aminu is going to play around 12-18min a game at SF, what's better.. Starting him so most of those minutes come while next to CJ, or bring him off the bench so that most of those minutes come next to Turner (Which wouldn't be the best fit)
I like the thought of better defense starting the game, but then bringing in more defensive pressure with Turner, Aminu and Collins......Assuming they provide that
I just think that playing Turner/Aminu at SG/SF would be horrible offensively as we'd have no shooting.
Maybe you don't need to have shooting? Maybe it's defense and fast breaks until the starters come back?
I'd enjoy unleashing a high energy, defensive and offensive attacking bench mob from time to time. That'd be fun.
