I was admiring your overoptimism as I read that. Well, actually I was in awe, not admiration...

I think our guards will be psyched up to avoid being embarassed by Sergio's team. But we still will be.

We don't stack up well against Dallas for sure. Our history reflects that. Last time we beat Dallas at their PLACE was in the WCSF back in the 2002-2003 season! We had Pippen back then.

We might beat Phoenix at home on thursday but my gut says 50-50.
Miami, we didn't beat them the first time around with Oden at our house.
Orlando: Can we contain Dwight Howard? He's averaging 18 ppg.
San Antonio: I can't remember the last time we actually won there. We can't do it with 9 players let alone a full roster.
Denver: Losing by double digits at home is going to be tough to swallow. Hopefully Pendergraph is back by this point. Its going to be an ugly loss and make our GM look really bad. Jason Quick is going to write an article of everyone being down in the dumps on xmas day.

No reason for you to post then. Vaya con Dios. I guess you need to find someone else to get attention from. You're a classic Cluster B personality type.

I think we'll squeak out a win against San Antonio of all teams, but the rest will be in the loss column.

I thought we might have a chance in SA, but it's the last game of the road trip. I don't think we have the legs.

I'm not trying to provide any logic, I just think the team will be so desperate for a win after likely losing 7 in a row (counting Cleveland and Milwaukee) that this will be the game where they make a stand. Nothing more than a hunch.

I think that, for whatever homeristic optimism I have, we can win 4 or 5. I think the team changes...I think the lineup changes...I think we break out of the malaise.

If nothing changes, we might win 2.

Vs. Sacramento L - The long standing tradition of getting murdered by ex Blazers continues as Sergio makes Blake and Miller his bitch.
Vs. Phoenix L - Portland would have trouble with this team even at full strength.
@ Orlando L - The only question is will the team lose by 5 or 15.
@ Miami L - Wade will remember the last game.
@ Dallas L - Another team Portland has a hell of a time beating. That isn't going to change this season.
@ San Antonio L - Two words: DeJuan Blair.
Vs. Denver L - Considering how well they played last Christmas I am hoping Santa brings me a close game this year.

I guess I am going to have to go 0-7. The team is going to hit rock fucking bottom this month.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
If it actually goes like that (a 9 game losing streak by the end of that), I hope it pretty much continues like that for the rest of the season, with Roy, Aldridge and Bayless lighting it up in losing efforts. Then Portland gets a top draft pick, and adds it to Roy, Aldridge, Bayless and a healthy Oden, Batum, Rudy and Outlaw.

I was only being half serious though I can honestly see the team simply falling apart in the next two weeks.

They will probably beat the Kings. I just don't see them beating anyone else this month.

My opinion changes if they change the line-up and rotations. But I trust that Nate won't ruin a bad thing.

My prediction (several posts) has been that Portland would be playing Denver on Christmas Day, determing our fate - of being a sub-500 team.

Also stated that the "melt-down" was happening before Oden got hurt.

Not a hater by any means!! Just my own realistic perspective.

Too many injuries; poor coaching during stretches; bad move bringing in Miller; etc.

I think anybody here would have taken 3-4.

Right now, we're 3-1 though. If we can win one of the next 3, I'd be thrilled.

What's important is if the team can hold on and come out of this road trip and the Denver game around .500, 4/5 next games will be at home, all 5 games against teams currently under .500.

It'd be great if they could get their record to 18-13 going into the Denver game, and now all of the sudden that game doesn't look so impossible to win with the team stepping up. For now I'll give them the win there.

So 19-13 going into that 5 game stretch against teams all currently under .500 with 4/5 being at home could really help the Blazers pad their W/L record. 24-13/23-14 after this disastrous start to the season would be phenomenal.

Record aside, I believe the move to make Miller the starter and the uptick in Bayless' minutes along with Blake settling back into a role he's more comfortable with (the 28~ minutes a night thing) have given this team a better sense of roles and frankly some better harmony. Furthermore, I think this team is finally playing pretty hard for the most part and are starting to show some of the character they lived off of last season.

Like I said above, record be damned I just want to see them play hard, compete, and not settle.

    Agreed!

on all accounts you speak of!

    Start Miller
Play Bayless - and give him a green light to do what he does!
Use Blake as your true back-up PG (around 24 minutes is fine)

And keep up the hustle! It is producing wins!!
