Even though he barely played as a rookie, he looked very poised in his limited action last year. Yes, there were times he played meaningful minutes in real games and he looked comfortable out there. He played within himself and he played within the system. At $1.5 million, I'd pick up that last year of his contract. Best case, he breaks into the rotation. Worst case, he's cheap insurance and a good practice player. Somewhere in the middle, he might be a good trade asset come February, even if it's just as an expiring contract.

So I did some research on what a pangolin is. It's apparently some kind of ant eater armadillo lookin animal that is being hunted out of existence. I watched a video about it that made me kind of sad. So, thanks for that.

Pat will most likely be a Blazer at training camp unless he is thrown in to make a trade work like the supposed Houston\NYK\Portland love triangle. Either way by next year he will be playing baseball.

Making people kinda sad is my raison d'etre.

I figured Pat is too clean cut for drugs, but he had to be involved in SOMETHING shady for the hail-of-bullets scenario to hold water.

I say go with Pat. He showed he can play well when given more than 30 minutes for a couple of games in April against the Spurs and Pelicans.

Obviously it's a small sample size, but it's something to work off of as he fights his way into the rotation and consistently receives playing time.

PC should be given a real chance to prove himself. Unfortunately it would be at the expense of a starters/second teams injury

I'd say he's got a pretty good chance this preseason.

I guess there is only one way to take this thread. Will Pat Con be a Blazer after the trade deadline?

My question would be why would he leave Millions in Basketball for a 50k in minor league baseball?

Pat will be offered another contract somewhere. Maybe even here after this year. He is just the kind of guy that becomes a very "journeyman" type player. Nobody ever though Steve Blake was going to amount to much. He ended up with a very nice career. Made a bunch of money by any standard and is pretty happy.
Heck even Patty Mills made a decent living in this league eventually. Had to go to China first.

I think I'm the only Pat backer here. I don't know why, but I think he'll make the same kind of 3rd year jump that Crabbe saw. I think he becomes a legit bench rotation guy this season.

If Jake and Pat did a couples costume and went as a horse who would be the head and who would be the butt?
