I don't think Biggie works well with Nurkic, which will hold him back. Also, when our backcourt is Dame and CJ, you HAVE to have a good defender at PF, and that's Swanigan's Achilles heel.
Meh.... Vonleh's second SL outing - 17.2 ppg, 8.5 rebounds, 55.8% from the field, 50% from three, 76% from the strip, 25.6 PER, 125.8 ORtg, 103.6 DRtg Biggie's SL stats - 16.1 ppg, 10.6 rebounds, 43.8% from the field, 27% from three, 80% from the stripe, 20.7 PER, 104.6 ORtg, 96.7 DRtg. I don't think those stats look pedestrian next to Swanigan's stats.
You know what else is interesting? You specifically mentioned Biggie's rebounding. Vonleh's rebound % 1st SL - 19.88 2nd SL - 18.32 3rd SL - 14.74 Biggie's Rebound % 18.82%
Damn. He didn't say much, but that's some high praise. I know that Dame goes to bat for his teammates, but I've never heard him say something like that.
Well, if you follow the breadcrumbs back to the origination of the debate, I was pointing out that I'm not sure yet if Biggie is ready to contribute right away, and that SL stats for a big man aren't necessarily an indicator of regular season success. Dviss said that Vonleh's SL stats were pedestrian compared to Biggie, so I showed some comparisons.
I will bet anyone that the only way Swanigan starts is if at least two players in front of him are out injured at the same time.
I have high hopes for Biggie, but I don't expect him to start. Vonleh, Davis, and Aminu should get minutes over him this season. Now, if he comes out like gangbusters and proves me wrong, I'll have no problem with it.
Won't take the bet, because we agree. Just cause I thought the Dame tweet was extraordinary doesn't mean I think Swanigan will start.
Swanigan has a high bball IQ. I wouldn't bet against him starting but I also don't care enough to put actual money on it Lolol. Even if he starts he won't be on the court when it matters so who really cares.
It'll be Aminu - no question. I'd much rather it be Swanigan or Collins, but it'll be Aminu. Tater Totts isn't going to start a rookie over Aminu even if he should.
