MVP-Kevin Garnett (Next year it will be my Stephon  )

Defensive POY- The stats don't lie...it goes to Ben Wallace once again

Coach of The Year- It has got to be Jerry Sloan...This man turned a team that was predicted to be last place in the entire NBA into a competitor in the west...with the help of AK-47,Arroyo,Giricek, and my home boy Mikki Moore

MVP: Kevin Garnett, if he doesn't get it this year something has gone terribly wrong. This is not a insult to Tim Duncan at all but KG deserves to win it this year.

MOST IMPROVED: Zach Randolph. It is not really fair to give this award to him in my eyes because I always thought he could produce in this league given the opportunity. Joe Johnson does get a look here but stats and team competitiveness give Randolph the edge.

6TH MAN: Emmanuel Ginobilli. This guy does more than provide an offensive spark off the bench. His defence has been great this year as well. He's the best spark off the bench for one of the best teams in the NBA. Bobby Jackson would get a nod here if he wasn't hurt for the latter part of the season.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR: If I had my choice it would be Lebron James. This kid has done it all in my eyes. Denver and Cleveland both have good supporting casts so I can throw that out the window. But what else can I say about a ROOKIE who averages 21, 5.5 rbs, 5.8 as, and 1.64 stls a game? Carmelo is also very nice averaging 21, 6 brds, 2.8 as, and 1.18 stls. But the stats don't lie and this comparison obviously leans towards Lebrons by way of a few assists.

BTW the league will probably call this one a tie anyways.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER: Ron Artest. This guy just shuts down his opposition and the stats don't lie.

Players guarded by Ron average 9.4 points a game attempting 9 shots a game. Simply put, he is the best defender in the NBA.

    First Team ALL-NBA:

    KG
    Tim Duncan
    Peja
    Kobe
    Lebron

    First Team ALL-Defense:

    Ron Artest
    KG
    Ben Wallace
    Shawn Marion
    Andrei Kirilenko

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Big Zee:</div><div class="quote_post">Half as good? Please... The Spurs have Ginobili coming off the bench.

How 'bout KG's supporting cast last year? Shouldn't HE have won MVP, then, following your logic?</div>

I was over exaggerating when I said half but the T'Wolves have better players. Cassell an all star, Sprewll an amazing player and defender(used to be an all star), Trenton Hassel another good defender, Troy Hudson an excellent shooter, Wally Szczerbiak an even better Shooter(an all star in 2001 but has been injured alot), and Olowakandi(cant mention any thing).

Spurs have Parker average point guard, Turkoglu awesome shooter, Bowen one of the best defenders, Nesterovic a really good and developing center, and Ginobili a fast and quick player.

Wolves have Szcerbiak and Hudson coming off the bench.

Spurs had the best record last season and they won the championship. Thats why he was MVP but he shouldnt have MVP been two years ago.

    COACH OF THE YEAR

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But for me, it comes down to Memphis' Hubie Brown and Utah's Jerry Sloan. Hubie Brown has taken a team that is far more talented than the Jazz, but is also very young and has never done anything and has made them a bona fide threat in the West, which is not the conference where you want to build confidence in young players. Yet, Hubie has done that.

Jerry Sloan has taken a team of no-names, besides Andrei Kirilenko and, their second-best player, Matt Harpring, who has been out all year. Even with Kirilenko and Harpring, there were some people who thought that they would not only not make the playoffs there were some who thought they had a chance to challenge for the worst record in NBA history. I heard that several times.

For that reason, I would give a slight edge to Jerry Sloan.</div>

    MOST VALUABLE PLAYER

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">MVP is Kevin Garnett. I think he's done it all. You could make a case for Kobe in the second half of the year. You can always make the case for Duncan and Shaq.</div>

    ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is another tough one. As easy as it sounds to give it to LeBron James, LeBron has been magnificent and he's played better than anyone thought he would this early, but so has Carmelo. And Carmelo has improved his basketball team to a point where no one thought they would be.

No one thought Denver would be in contention, where a lot of people thought Cleveland had a chance because of who else they have on their team.

And then the third guy that no one talks about and I have him because he's from Marquette is Dwyane Wade. He's had an injury-filled season, but there's no doubt, that when Wade is on the floor, Miami is not only a playoff team, but a dangerous playoff team.

That's the order I would go in with my vote. To me, it would be a great year to split it between LeBron and Carmelo and put Wade second.</div>

    DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ben Wallace. Ron Artest and Bruce Bowen are the other two guys who are in there. But Ben Wallace doesn't do anything but defend and rebound every night and he's still one of the most important players in our league without needing the ball.

That fact alone makes him the Defensive Player of the Year. </div>

    MOST IMPROVED PLAYER

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This one is a tricky one. I have Zach Randolph as Most Improved, if you look at his numbers from last year to this year. In Zach's mind, it probably means most improved minutes. I've always thought, for the most part, the guy who gets the most improved player, look at how his minutes have increased.

Then again, you can get a lot more minutes, but you have to do something with them.</div>

    EXECUTIVE OF THE YEAR

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">This is Joe Dumars. Over the last three years, I don't know who's done more with their basketball team than Joe. Kiki Vandeweghe should get a mention also. He's not only changed the team around, he's also changed the team's identity</div>

    <u><font color="Red"><font size="7">Jason Kidd</font></font></u>

Jason Kidd must be on everyone's list for at least second team. I think it's an injustice to leave him off the first team, but to not name him on the second or third team just makes me sick. Kidd leads the league in assists. Do you people not value assists whatsoever? What's a point guard? A point guard is a player that leads a team and distributes the ball to his fellow teammates as efficiently as possible. Kidd fits that description better than anyone else. Stop feeding me crap about Cassell averaging 20 ppg too. Kidd averages 16 ppg and 6.5 rpg, and almost 2 spg. We all know of his deffensive effort; we all know of his passing; we all know of his scoring and rebounding ability. So why not have him on your first team?

    Here is mine -

    <u>1st Team</u>
    G - Jason Kidd
    G - Tracy McGrady
    F - Kevin Garnett
    F - Tim Duncan
    C - Shaquille O'Neal

    <u>2nd Team</u>
    G - Sam Cassell
    G - Kobe Bryant
    F - Peja Stojakovic
    F/C - Ben Wallace
    F/C - Jermaine O'Neal

    <u>3rd Team</u>
    G - Stephon Marbury
    G - Baron Davis
    F - Paul Pierce
    F - Dirk Nowitzki
    C - Yao Ming

    MVP - Kevin Garnett
    ROY - LeBron James/Carmello Anthony
    COY - Hubie Brown
    MIP - Zach Randolph
    6th - Antwan Jamison
    DPOY - Ron Artest

Well I think its injustice to have Kidd and Cassell over Marbury in that case. He has been involved in almost every single play for the Knicks this season, and hasn't missed almost any games. I'd put him up ahead both those guys.

In what case? Kidd leads the league in assists, there's no one else who can claim that but himself. He also averaged sixteen points and six 1/2 boards. He definitely deserves to be a first teamer over Marbury and Cassell. Also, don't knock Kidd for missing games. His injury has been out of his control, but he's still played over 60 games. Face it, Kidd is better than Marbury.

Iam not going to argue that Jason Kidd isnt the best point guard in the NBA because he is.But if we are basing 1st all-NBA for the 2003-2004 season. Cassell & Marbury both have better cases than J.Kidd.

Injuries do matter for #1. How cant it, J.kidd has missed almost 20 games compared to Marbury who only missed 1 or 2 games. And Cassell who has only missed 1 game.

Jason Kidd shooting has been horrible this season. Now, on most times you dont look at Kidd shooting perecentage to decide his impact on the Nets. But this season it has been the worst by far since he has been a Net. It has cost the Nets alot more wins this year then in the past because teams have focused on slowing down kidd on the break. And making him shoot the ball from the outside. And he has been extremely ineffective with the jumper most nights.

Stephon Marbury has kept the knicks in the playoff race thru all the roster changes around him since he came to the knicks in Dec. He has kept the Knicks in the playoff race despite the knicks being without their best shooter Allan Houston missing a large part of the 2nd half of the season.

And lets not forget Cassell was probably the best point guard in the league the 1st half of season. Granted Sam Cassell struggled for most of the month of March, trying to adjust to sharing minutes with troy Hudson. But in the last 2 weeks Cassell has once again picked his play up for the Wolves stretch run. When the Wolves looked like they were out of the running for the top spot after the Lakers loss, Cassell picked up is game. And helped KG bring the Wolves together to gain the top spot in the West.

Marbury& Cassell have both been there down the stretch run helping their teams achieve different goals while Jason Kidd has been on the sidelines. Injuries count when they occur during the most important part of the season.
