The Nets traded 8 years of their controlled future. There is no fucking way we could or should have topped that. I was all for going all-in on Harden, but this is a new definition of franchising the franchise.
The Nets have been also-rans in New York for decades. Even when the Knicks suck, they've still been second. When you have a culture of losing like that, sometimes it takes a ballsey move to break the cycle. Brooklyn has sacrificed their future for this. Let's see if it works out for them, Cotton.
While I was hoping Olshay would swing for the fences, what Brooklyn gave up for Harden, while right now it looks like an absolute steal, will in 3-4 years look like absolute shit... unless the Nets have 1 or 2 rings to show for it.
Nets are insane! Building all that hope on 2 players who are highly likely to get injured before or during the playoffs. Danny Ainge taught them nothing it seems.
So how can the Nets trade for Harden and keeping Kyrie and KD? Can the Blazers trade for Harden keeping Nurk Dame and CJ?
1. By mortgaging their future 2. By having a pretty damn good young roster other than Durant and Kyrie, as they showed in the Bubble
