I'm simply saying that the Patriots have a proven, elite coach and a proven, elite QB in Tom Brady. I know the two don't make up the whole team but they are definitely the foundation of the team's success. There are maybe, MAYBE 5 teams in the NFL this season with a top notch coach and QB so that is saying a lot for the Pats. I know the Colts have Dungy and Manning, the Steelers are in good shape with Cowher and Big Ben, the Seahawks are in good shape with Holmgren and Hasselbeck, the Panthers with Fox and Delhomme, etc. but there are a lot of teams with unproven QBs and unproven coaches and I don't see them making the playoffs because of that. I believe that the QB is the "ignition key" for the team, so to speak, and everything starts with him. If the QB sucks then the rest of the team is going to suck too, regardless if they have a Tomlinson in the back field or not. That said, I will be respectful to the Dolphins and say that their coach/QB duo in Saban/Culpepper has a hell of a lot of potential if Culpepper can be healthy and productive. As a Pats fan I am honestly worried about the Dolphins over the next few years because of that. However, Culpepper is a new addition to the team so I'm not too worried THIS year and he has had some trouble in the past. I hope this clears things up a little bit. What upsets me is that almost everyone seems to think that the Patriots' dynasty will fall like the Cowboys did in the 90s and I really, really don't think that is the case.
For the most part you are right, but there are also cases where a team goes somewhere without that elite QB. I know they are the cliche of this example, but the Baltimore Ravens did it with Dilfer. Heck, you could make the argument that the Bucs did it with Brad Johnson (although I think he deserves to be considered as one of the best game managers in the game today).
The QB isnt always the ignition to a team like VF said teams like the Ravens and Bucs have won because of defense. Quite honestly the Pats D is getting old and not sure itll be enough this year

new england is not gonna make the playoffs...and the bengals have like the hardest schedule in the nfl, pitt will take them easy...
Playoff Predictions: <u>Wildcard</u>: Pats over Bengals Phins over Ravens Falcons over Vikings Skins over Cowboys <u>Divisional Round</u>: Chargers over Pats Colts over Phins Panthers over Falcons Hawks over Skins <u>Conference Finals</u>: Chargers over Colts Hawks over Panthers Super Bowl 41: Hawks over Chargers
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Pats over Bengals Phins over Ravens</div> Eh...if the Pats and Dolphins are both playing in the Wild Card round, who do you have winning the division?
Don't see how a team can get better when they lose a Pro Bowl QB. I expect growing pains from Rivers and the Chargers this season.
I do believe Bledsoe was once a pro bowl QB for the Pats I don't know I just have a good feeling about the Bolts this year. Call it a hunch, but that's my opinion.
I can't believe you have both KC and Denver missing the playoffs. I agree with Porky. I don't anticipate a playoff berth for San Diego this year.
The Patriots are taking the AFC east unless Brady goes down, Belichick has a stroke, Harrison goes down along with Bruschi, Seymour, Vrabel, Colvin, Seau, Dillon, and Maroney. If all of those guys are healthy, the Dolphins will need a miracle to win the AFC east. Oh, and lets not forget the tight ends. Yes, I am confident in the Pats. Why, because they have shown that they are for real since 2001. Only when they start losing coaches, QBs, etc. will I think that the dynasty is over. Go ahead and disagree, Doplhins fans, all that matters is the W/L ratio.

Like crennel, weis, etc. And pro bowl players like mcginest, vinatieri, etc. All that matter is w/l record? Well it got worse last year by 4 games, and the dolphins won 5 more games. So the 9 win swing in record obviously doesnt apply to this situation, W/L record only applies as you need it to continue pats delusion? You have no good recievers left. Not one who had a 1000 yards last year. And the one who was close wants out. Your rb situation is crap. You dont have a lot at LB. Your secondary is in total disarray. But, like you said, only a plane crash taking out all patriots players could cause you to lose to dolphins. Of course, in plane crash scenario, they still make playoffs. Before you reply to this post, take a deep breath of reality, and then apologize.

I've already said before that the AFCE this will be a 2 team race between Miami & NE this yr. NE has already lost coaches. Last I checked, Weis & Crennel were no longer wearing Blue, red, & silver. I can unless Seau discovered the fountain of youth he will spend some time on IR. I believe Rodney is coming back from a major injury. 420; What you've done IMO is jinx your beloved patsies. BTW, the Pats will need a miracle to hold off the 'phins. Flutie retired. So, I guess they are fresh out of miracles and drop kickers.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pats_Fan420)</div><div class='quotemain'>Oh, and lets not forget the tight ends.</div> I neglected to comment on this previously. Its a good thing NE has a boat load of TE's because When not if Branch leaves then they are going to have to line up 3 TE's w/ Chad Jackson and Maroney because Dillon IMO is on the downside of his career.
