Well, it's only preseason, maybe Nelson is trying to isolate Ike and see what he has in the other players. I just hope our timing is right when it comes to trades and the higher ups have better vision of what it takes to make a winning team. Too many times do they keep making the same mistakes or making brand new ones because they do not think 2-4 years ahead.

Also on today's game: 27 three pointer attempts launched. Man, we will probably shoot even more of those per night without inside presence. Which is going to suck for us some nights when the shooting legs aren't there.

<div class="quote_poster">Clif25 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Why is Ike Diogu not getting off the bench? What is the deal here? I am also curious about why Zarko also is not getting off the bench, though the reason Ike isn't getting any PT is most concerning to me. Before I thought it could have been from Ike not understanding the system, but it seems as if it could be more than that. I don't know. Maybe there will be an article about this in the near future.

This question, ties in with the previous question, but will the Warriors be possibly too one deminsional or maybe better termed this limited to the perimeter as shown in today's game for the beginning of the season? Again I would have liked to have seen the Warriors try to change the pace a little bit with the addition of some big guys, to go a little more half-court and work the ball inside to guys like Ike, POB, or maybe even Zarko - primarly with Ike though.

Do you guys think that possibly McLeod could be cut so the team can keep both Roberson and Barnes? I don't remember McLeod doing much this game. Roberson seems to be a needed reliable-shooter, and Barnes can get some hustle points and change the tempo of the game like that.

Final thoughts: I like the FT%, the number of assists (28), and I like the production of Baron, Mike, and Andris Biedrins(he just needs to keep out of foul trouble). POB did ok too. Lets hope the good play continues with more play from Ike and Richardson in the future.</div>

Ike's not playing because his game isn't a good fit with Nelson's. Nellie has called him on his slow feet and not being able to get back on defense to defend and grab rebounds. Not knowing the plays hurt him, too. It will be a learning process for Ike and think he will be trade bait. His inside game is still good, but Nellie wants a big who can spread the floor open, so his quicker players can take it to the rack and make plays. While Ike languishes, a player like Dunleavy flourishes. Ike will have to shoot more outside if he wants to get in the lineup. This has hurt Zarko's game, too. He's not quick and his game was much more suited for Monty's pick and roll.

I think Roberson has made the team with his play tonight. Still not sure of Barnes or McLeod. I think McLeod will stay because he's the only real PG we have in case Baron goes down. Still, I rather try to get another front court player who can rebound instead of Barnes.

It seems as if the iso are the only plays Ike has gotten. If we keep Ike, then he's going to have to rebound in order to get some minutes. The Warriors don't have it with their current front line and AB off the bench.

I saw the 3 pointers, too. Tonight they shot a decent percentage, but yeah it's a lot. At least Roberson passed it to AB during OT and didn't take another 3. Still, I think it's part of Nellie's strategy so don't think the numbers faze Nelson unless the Warriors aren't making it and they're passing up better shots or casting off like last season.

Well, whether we keep Robertson and Barnes will depend on how much we are apart from luxury tax. We are dangerously close to luxury tax line, and that's why we bought off Brown and Owens without giving them a look. If we must keep both Robertson and Barnes, don't be surprised if Taft is bought out as well.

For Diogu, I am surprised with DNP as well. But, when was the last time Nelson actually used traditional undersized, and not terribly fast PF? If Diogu can play back up center, it would be a different story, but it doesn't look like Diogu learned to play back up center yet.

Another DNP-CD for Foyle in preseason. How much it costs for a benchwarmer like Foyle? $104,000 per game, $2,160 per min, and $36 per sec... Wee...

Sirius is like 10-12 bucks per month, if you can afford that, cut out sodas or something like that![IMG]

I'm also feeling what Kwan has been saying. Man talk about runaway spending on guys that are only productive in one or two areas. As far as intangibles go (the extra pass (non-assist) that leads to a score/ defensive play that saves a basket or helps fuel a fastbreak - but not a shotblock or steal), our role players have very little if they aren't consistently playing well in other areas to stay on the floor.

I wonder how many nose jokes are being made right now. Poor Murphy. The negative effects of extra growth hormone.
