If they all get hurt together, then it just wasn't meant to be. Stop being so pessimistic. It's possible they'll all be injured, but I doubt all injured at the same time. We should be able to do alright, I hope.

Stop being pessimistic? Man, you must not have been a Warrior fan for too long. [IMG]

Mmm... You remind me of good old days when Chris Porter was a legit 2nd option for our club, because basically every single Warriors players except Jamison was hurt...

Speaking of Porter...I know you were joking but wouldn't he be perfect in this offense? He was one of the most remarkable athletes I'd seen in awhile. Just have to get him off drugs, have him put the gun away, stop speeding, and...ahhh, nevermind...

But back to what I was going to say. I just had a thought, probably an obvious one, but this was the first time that it really hit home: are the Warrior/Suns games going to turn into the Kings/Mavs games of the past five years or so?

I think they will and that is so freaking cool. I've been saying it for years that the one thing the Warriors need is consitency in their roster. If you look around at every good team the past five years, they all have one thing in common: their core roster and coaching staff do not change. The Kings and Mavs had it all in place since '98 and it took each team about two years to take off.

The one exception to this rule is that a great pg can come into an established roster and get it to play at a much higher level right away. It happened to New Jersey when Kidd came aboard and Phoenix when Nash came aboard, and to a lesser extent in Sacramento when Bibby came aboard.

When I look at it as an outside observer, I can't help but think that all the ingredients are in place for the Warriors to have a hugely successful year:

    1) Except for Davis, all the starters have been together for three years, four excluding Dunleavy.

    2) They have a coach that has the support of management. And he's had a year to put in his offensive and defensive systems.

    3) Two potential allstars in Davis and Richardson.

    4) Playing a fast pace brand of basketball that always suits young teams.

    5) They've got their great pg that came in and has put his stamp on the team, a laKidd, Nash, and Bibby.

Now, for anyone who comes on and says, "But the Warriors don't play defense, you've got to play D to win in the playoffs. Just look at Phoenix last year," I'll say that is true. But I'll also point to Dallas and Sacramento. When those teams first took their big steps forward, they did it with all offense. It took them a couple of years to get their defense up where their offense needs to be, then they went from playoff teams to championship contenders. I imagine the Suns and Warriors will be on the same path.

Hey...don't the Warriors have a couple of budding young defensive players that are still a couple of years away? Biedrins and Pietrus will be ready for big minutes right about the same time the rest of the team is ready to commit to the defensive end as well.

Now the Warriors are going to have to make some sacrafices as Kwan will note, because the luxury tax will probably not allow them to keep Dunleavy, Pietrus, and Biedrins in addition to Murphy and Richardson. But if Mullin can pull off another miracle by getting rid of Foyle or Fisher's salary (which will probably take a draft pick or two plus at least Cabarkapa) they may be able to keep 'em all.

Guys, get ready for a great ride the next couple of years, every diehard Warriors fan deserves it.

If Biedrins made HALF his FT's he would have a double double. His shot is damnnnn ugly.

Not sure how long I've actually been a Warrior's fan but I can only vaguely remember the TMC days, then the Joe Smith, Cwebb and Sprewell days. I don't remember which order they came in and out. When were the Vonteego Cummins and Mugsy Bogues days? I'm lost, not much memory left in the tank. But the point is, why look back to the past, time to hope for the best for the future.

A lot of the Warrior fans have been hoping for the best... for 11 years. I think they got a little tired ;-)

Then they can stop being Warriors fans, doesn't bother me. I will remain one for a long long while.

Sorry grammatical error earlier, the "they" was omitted.. brain lapse.
