The thing about Texas is since Austin and black areas came out to vote the most in the 2004 election, those are the areas that are most delegate rich, and they're Obama's base. In addition on that, you have the caucus at night, which Obama should do very well in. Obama should have a good sized delegate win in Texas.

Obama cutting off Hillary's speech was brilliant.

Hah, it's great for you to clarify those details BG7, that had slipped my mind.

Rasmussen has been extremely accurate the last 4 election cycles.

I prefer them because they use robots to call people, so the pollsters aren't able to hint or otherwise persuade people to answer any particular way.

Rasmussen is a really smart dude, too.

Zogby has been accurate in some cycles, but not consistent. He's a great pollster, too.</div>

Actually, Rasmussen and SUSA are the two pollsters that use computers (and have the best records because of it). I like Rasmussen too. [IMG]

I lost all faith in Zogby after Super Tuesday. He had Obama ahead, which was ridiculous considering the early mail-in voting. He also refused to release his methodology, unlike all of the rest of the pollsters. It made me wonder if he was actually trying to push the election and stump for his guy -- he's on team Obama.

Just as I thought, the later ballots were even more in favor of Obama. He's winning 58-41 with 85% of the votes counted.

Heh, Obama won Hawaii 76%-24%. He got 14 delegates out of 20.

Obama now has about a 153-160 pledged delegate lead after the primaries yesterday.

Hillary is getting real dirty during this latest debate. She looks even more pathetic now, her new criticism doesn't make sense.

Barack isn't handling it so well. Getting a little testy. I hope she stays in the race for the long haul so that he gets more practice at these.

I don't care, he's clearly making the more logical points.

This Hillary moron stretches the truth to ridiculous lengths. Change you can Xerox? Give me a break. She's got nothing on him, the guy is virtually spotless in a Democratic debate.

Oh I see, well in that respect, I must agree with you. These debates are pointless after a while, I just wanted to see who got dirty and how sad Hillary is as a person.

I don't think Bill Clinton looks as pristine as he used to, and I doubt the Super delegates would let Obama lose if he won more states, delegates, and the popular vote.

Sometimes I don't understand why some people speak as if everything is doomed. Hillary is slowly losing her grip.
    </div>

Plus, I'm not even that sure a lot of Washington liberals like Bill all that much. He butted heads with a lot of them while he was in the White House. I think it was with the more moderate liberals who liked the idea of democratic ideology but weren't so die hard into egalitarian causes that were all over him. He modified a lot of entitlement programs while he was in there, but since the economy was so good, it gave a lot of middle-of-the-road people a chance to have their cake and eat it too.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (rwj @ Feb 13 2008, 12:44 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I don't pay much attention to politics but I've been a tentative conservative/republican in the past because of I prefer their economic position (less government, lower taxes) vs that of the Democratic party (more government, higher taxes).

I don't see that distinction any more. Bush may have lowered taxes, but the national debt and budget deficits have shot up during his administration. Both parties want to use more money: Republicans for national defense and the military, Democrats for social programs.

Given that choice, I'll opt for a Democrat.</div>

Yeah. In general, I tend to think small government is better, but if you have to have big government, then I suppose you're better off with liberals, who tend to be better at it.

Somewhere around 30 or 40 years ago, I think conservatives lost an ideological battle and basically decided that they would be a party that attempted to cater to societie's problems and act as a gigantic insurance company, but they've just done it in more deceptive ways. There aren't too many Barry Goldwater's left, that's for sure.

In the end, I'm not sure there's a huge difference between paying for government with taxes or with deficits, the latter is just less obvious.

I don't think I have noted this, but somewhere along the line, the mayor of Cleveland Frank Jackson, has shifted to camp Obama. That's going to make a real deference in Ohio. I think endorsements from Senators are just about worthless, but endorsements that carry political machines -- like those from mayors and governors -- are solid gold.

Oh yeah, speaking of solid gold:
